Plot:
This is a story of Randy Love, he has two older siblings that are doing well in their field of expertise. He was the child of John and Marjorie Love old age. John wanted him to be exceptional. However, he was far from what the parents wished he would become. Randy moved out of his father's house and within a short time was found changing women and job without limit.
On the other hand, there is Michael, John's friend who is always torturing Randy's life whenever the chance presents itself.
Randy love at your service is different from what the title entails. It's not about love or escort as I expected. The novel started off by showing how Randy struggles to move out of his father's house, get a job, at first he got a part-time job, he needed anything that pays well and wouldn't take much of his time but to boost his CV thus, he went in search of a full-time job. Within a short time, Randy changed his lifestyle, changes girlfriends often.
Well, at the early stage, I was so excited how Carter tried to bring the person of John, Edna to life, showcasing the life of most neighbors, hoping that Randy will break barriers and explore. I was however disappointed, my dear Randy didn't progress.
I didn't really enjoy reading this novel when I got to the middle, I was moved to skip some or stop reading but at the same time, I prayed that Randy becomes better. I was bored eventually because there was no climax, nothing captivating. Randy was still Randy, he has no frills. He has this superiority attitude towards others, very manipulative. He was not the nice person I would have loved him to be, he is the main character, he is expected to have an outstanding quality. I expected a change in the plot at a stage but the writer ended that part without fully developing the story.
In summary, though I didn't like the Novel much, these are the thing that caught my attention; 1. The novel was very real, I could imagine the characters in a real world while reading. 2. I was so much excited about Edna, the councilor's wife, and the neighbor. 3. John and his friend, Michael is like everyone's father, very philosophical. 4. There was no grammatical error. 5. The writers choice of words were quite interesting. 6. I found the ending to be rushed, I was hoping that the story could be extended. One could relate the novel to a real-life happening, at least I was able to relate the story to some persons around me. It may be a fiction or a mixture of life experiences of the author, to me it's both a fiction and true life happenings.
I rate Randy Love at your service 3 out of 4 stars. It may not be fun as much as I wanted but it's a well-written and the writer was able to bring the characters to life. I must commend the writer for a job well done. Therefore, I recommend it for readers who want to better their writing skills and for adults who I believe can learn one or two things from the life Randy lived.
