The First Ten Focus Group Feedback for Call me Dragon
Because Call me Dragon was Book of the Day, some of our most trusted members have carefully looked over the cover, the description, and other aspects of this book as a part of purchase-intent focus group. We then asked each participant in the focus group if they planned to buy and read the book, and why they planned to buy and read the book or not. Their answer to that question and reasons are displayed below. We call this awesome feature The First Ten Focus Group.
Keep in mind, the responses from the members are not reviews. This is purchase-intent focus group which means the participants are people who have NOT yet bought or read your book. A purchase-intent focus group is an important and extremely useful marketing tool for any product, not just books. For other products, you might walk on the street and show people an item in a package and poll them about whether they would buy if or $X or not. These kind of focus groups are one of the ways big marketing companies find the ideal price points for products and test the effectiveness of different packaging. The focus group can help you identify your market so you how to target ads of your book, and it can (but may not) provide you new useful info about your "packaging" (e.g. your book cover, your book synopsis on Amazon, etc.). The point of the focus group comments is to give you information from people who have not bought or read your book about why they plan to buy your book which will help you in marketing the book. These are not reviews or critiques of your book because they are not from people have read the book. This is a marketing tool, not reviews. The trick of book marketing and book advertising is that you have to convince people who have not read your book yet that your book is worth buying and reading. For marketing, it doesn't matter much if people love your book after reading it if you cannot convince potential buyers before they read it that they will love it.
IMPORTANT: Any score over 10% is considered very good. And any score above 0% is acceptable. This is because we only poll about 20 or so readers, and all readers have to say "no" to almost all books. Over a million books are published each year. Even a very active reader cannot come close to even reading 1% of books out there.
This is also why publishing books is such a tough industry.

The storyline revolves around a dragon,
Blitz the Devastator, and a princess and explores how both of them form an unexpected connection when Blitz decides to kidnap the princess and restore his reputation in his clan. I wouldn't have read the book based on its genre and the blurb as the themes of fantasy didn't interest me much. Though, I liked the author's flair for humor when narrating the dragon's desposition. I would say Blitz's characterization is done quite well. The thing I liked the most is that the author lays a good foundation for the story. Blitz's aversion to human tendencies are clear from the very beginning. Given that, it would be interesting to see how he manages to co-exist with the pampered princess. The book seems professionally edited as I wasn't able to find any editing errors. I read an official OBC review that helped understand the basic premise of the plot. But I'm not too convinced by the sample and don't really like the genre, so I wouldn't be reading the whole book. I don't feel much scope for improvements in the portion sampled.

Based on the genre, cover and title, I wouldn't have sampled this book becasue I thought it is similar to many dragon stories I read. Also, I was hesitant to read it because it's part of a series. However, I changed my mind when I read from the blurb, editorial reviews and customer reviews that it contains humor. The OBC review and the sample convinced me to buy and read it when I learned that it's a humorous story about a dragon and a princess who negotiated to help each other solve problems. The dragon came from a notorious clan, but he didn't accomplish anything noteworthy. He saw his luck when he met a princess who might be his first chance to gain a reputation for kidnapping and asking for ransom. I like the inclusion of a map with colorful illustration. I'm looking forward to reading more funny scenes from this book. It seems professionally edited, and I don't have suggestions for improvements.

Following my poring over the book’s official OnlineBookClub review and Amazon page, I decided not to acquire the title. I am not fascinated by the world where the story took place in which dragons coexist with humans and other creatures. I am not intrigued by Blitz the Devastator's poor reputation and how it plans to improve its social standing. I am not interested in learning how Blitz will carry out its plan to boost its reputation. Sampling the title failed to change my mind. I would not purchase it because nothing in the Amazon sample convinced me I would enjoy perusing the rest of the title. The first ten pages contain a map of Solixambria, Chapter 1: The High Tower, and a few pages of Chapter 2: Abduction Blues. What I liked most is the part when Blitz attacked Prince Floric in an attempt to kidnap Princess Azania. I did not note any errors in the sample. The book seems professionally edited. I have no advice to offer to the author.

I'm a big fan of the sci-fi and fantasy genres, and the title and the cover of this book made it clear that it's a fantasy book. I must add that the book cover and the map at the beginning of the book are beautiful. The OBC review was quite positive about the book. There are some other online reviews too which are very appreciative of this book. The blurb is amazing too.
As for the sample, I liked the writing style. I liked the hilarious and snarky language. I was in splits reading the Prince's compliments. The book seems professionally edited, as I didn't encounter any errors in the first chapter. But I suggest that sentences as long as this one be shortened: He had long since worked out that all the good, shiny stuff decent Dragons salivated over day and night made its way to these big stone castles, where the ones who wore fancy animal skins flaunted their wealth and station. There's nothing that I disliked about the book. As I enjoyed reading the first chapter and want to know more about Blitz and Princess Azania, I'll read the rest of the book.

I like to think I would have sampled this book based on its cover and genre; I am a fantasy lover, and I found this book's cover attractive. But what sealed my interest in this book was its OBC review. The review gave an interesting insight into the dysfunctional dragon, Blitz the Devastator. Ironically, Blitz had never devastated anything in his twenty years of existence, until the fateful day he decided to rescue a princess in distress (in hope of a healthy ransom that would earn him the respect of his clan). I'm certainly completing this book because I enjoyed every page of it; it is everything I need right now—a humorous fantasy.
I don't think this book needs any improvement per se, but I found some of Blitz's diction off, like when he said "mop of a hair." I couldn't help but wonder "how does a dragon know what a mop is?" Anyways, this is just a minor, personal observation, so I think this book is very okay. I didn't notice any errors while reading, so I believe this book was professionally edited.

As a fan of fantasy books, I thought the cover art was exciting. It promised action and mythical creatures. The title added to that excitement and the phrase under the title made me smile a bit. The blurb promised comedy, which is a welcome addition to the fantasy elements within the book. It had no editorial review but the customer reviews were mostly positive. All things considered, I would have read this book outside the First Ten program. The sample did not disappoint. We are introduced to Blitz the dragon as he contemplates his life and the expectations from his family. I enjoyed the projection of the dragon as a self aware being with a complex personality and emotions. Usually dragons are used as tools within the fantasy genre but in this book they are personified and that is an appreciated fresh take. I found no errors and nothing I did not like in the sample. I will be reading the rest of this book. The OBC review mentioned how the princess and the dragon form a bond and that made me want to read this book even more.

After experiencing the first ten pages, I am convinced I will enjoy this book. I would have picked it up from the cover, title, genre, and reviews like OBC’s, as I enjoy fantasy the involves mystical creatures, but the sample enhanced my willingness to read the entire book. I did not notice any errors so far, but found the capitalization of the word “princesse” unnecessary. Nothing could be bettered, as the introduction was both gripping and well paced, as well as well described. I never imagined to read about a dragon that never pillaged a village and never killed a human. I wonder how the princess reacts to the scene of him rampaging through the tower to snatch her. Hopefully, the entire book proves to be unpredictable and satisfying. Indeed, well written!

The cover and title definitely show that this is a fantasy book. The blurb also says so. I generally don't enjoy fantasies anymore. However, the description of Blitz the Devastator in the blurb was so endearing that I would have sampled the book outside the program. The official OBC review also convinced me to give the book a try. (I appreciated that the reviewer mentioned unintended "misogyny" in the book.) The first pages were very amusing. I really liked Blitz's personality, er, "dragonality." I have no suggestions for the author; I am sure dragon fans will have a ball with the book. However, I will not read the rest of the book. I am not familiar with "dragon jargon," and I doubt that I will be able to sustain my interest throughout the book (which has more than 400 pages) and then the rest of the series (this is just the first book). The part I read was edited well. The author used "extra" commas for emphasis and sentence fragments to create suspense. But I noted two instances where "father" should have been capitalized, as it was used as a proper noun. These instances were both on page 8: "She despises me, father!" and "What, father?"

Call Me Dragon by Marc Secchia is a fantastic science fiction novel for dragon fans. I sampled the book based on the program, since I'm a part of it. I read the sample, and it's quite entertaining, though I prefer to watch a dragon story than read it. Sometimes, I can't fully grasp the author's way of describing the scenes in the dragon world. I like the map. The book has an OBC review, which was a great help in my decision. I don't see any typos as well as anything for improvement.

This is one of my favorite genres. Based on the official OBC review and other published reviews, I decided to read this book. I found no errors in the first ten pages. Blitz the Devastator wakes up from a nap on a countryside, musing on his lack of achievements in life. As a dragon, he is supposed to be fierce, pillaging human villages and hoarding treasure. Yet, Blitz had achieved none of this and spent a long day napping. I loved the unique storyline, the subtle humor, and Blitz's view of the humans. I had no suggestions for improvements. I will gladly read this book.

Fantasy books are not my cup of tea. And because the cover page, title, and OBC blurb hinted at this genre, I wouldn't have read this book outside the First Ten program. The book's editing seems professional because I didn't flag any grammatical errors. I liked the map provided in the initial pages. It guides readers and helps them understand where the action is taking place. The perception of Humans by Dragons was beautifully done also. The reader can understand how the creatures view the ability of Humans. I will not complete reading this book even after sampling the novel and reading the OBC review because it falls under the fantasy genre. Lastly, I cannot find any improvements to suggest for this fantasy read.

The cover and the title attracted me to this book, so I would've sampled it if I weren't a part of this program. However, when I read the blurb and OBC official review, I lost interest in the book. The plot didn't sound fascinating or new to me. I have read the first ten pages, and I won't be completing this book because I didn't enjoy sampling it. I found the dialogue between princess Azania, Prince Floric, and King Tyloric to be lackluster and was bored while reading it. My decision was influenced by the OBC official review, blurb, and the first ten pages, and not the editorial review or customer reviews. Personally, I felt the writing could've been better, more mature, and more engaging. Having seen no errors, I believe the first ten pages were professionally edited.

Without this program, I wouldn't have read this. The cover, the blurb, and the ratings on Amazon are fine, but according to the official review from OnlineBookClub, the book is not my cup of tea.
I like the descriptions of Blitz the Devastator and his draconic traits. However, the plot is not very appealing. It's a bit too bland and monotonous for me. I would also suggest another round of proofreading. Since the sample can't pique my interest, I won't buy this book. The OBC review was helpful in making my decision.
Error example: His guffaw was of course, a tower-shaking explosion of male draculinity – the equivalent of masculinity in the Draconian language, he understood from the lore – while her chortle betrayed mischievous pleasure at the Prince's fate. -> There should be a comma before "of course"

I really like this genre, but I am not a big fan of dragon stories. I like the cover of this book and the description sounded somewhat interesting. The official OnlineBookClub review spoke highly of the book. This made me more interested in reading the sample, but I probably would not have picked this book to read had I not been part of this program. However, after reading the sample pages I have changed my mind. I saw no editing errors, so this book seems professionally edited. I love the authors writing style, and I liked Blitz right from the start. I like that he wants to be a scary mean dragon, but he just isn’t one. I also like the humorous way he talks about humans. I have no suggestions for improvement. The sample pages have convinced me to buy and finish reading this book. I am excited to see where this unique storyline goes.

The sample I have read is about a dragon called Blitz. He is perched on a tower attempting to take a human princess hostage for ransom. I love how the author developed and unfolded the plot of this story. At first, it seemed like the story was drab, but one gets the real essence of the story as he reads on. I would have read this book if I had not been part of this First Ten Programme. This is because the book cover attracts me immensely. A dragon with an open mouth, about to go for the kill is not just artistic but really terrific. I have nothing to dislike from the sample I just read.
I didn't see any typos or errors in the first ten pages of this book. This implies that the editing is excellent. I obviously would get this book and complete it. This is because of the fact that I love stories with suspense and twists. And this book has suspense and twists in good measure. I found an Online Book Club review for this book and it further convinced me that this book is worth reading. I end this review by stating again, that I would get this book and complete it.

Personally, I'm not a huge sci-fi/fantasy reader so I decided to skip the book because of the genre. I wanted to give the book a fair chance before I made this decision because I wouldn't have given this book an opportunity if I wasn't in this program, so I read the official review on the OBC website. I was intrigued by the storyline of a dragon different from the fiery, dangerous creature we usually read about. The review was good but I needed to read the book to find out if I was really into it. Then I downloaded the book and was reading it and got disinterested because it's written in Old English. What I found interesting in the book was that King Tyloric locked this princess in a tower because she refused to marry his son and join their kingdoms. I did not find any grammar errors or anything I disliked in my reading, it's just not my type of reading.

The cover and title are eye-catching, artistic, and in keeping with the story and genre. I think the target audience should be drawn to this book. In general, I'm not a fan of dragon stories or the sci-fi and fantasy genres. The blurb indicates that Blitz the Devastator tries to put himself out of his misery and fails by kidnapping Princess Azania. The vast majority of customer reviews are flattering. The official OnlineBookClub review states that this dragon story is full of magic and mystery. Based on these aspects, I am uninclined to read this book. The first ten pages present an innovative story of dragons. It is noteworthy that Blitz possesses curious qualities that allow him to analyze humans. He demonstrated it when he eavesdropped on the high tower while King Tyloric and Prince Floric threatened Princess Azania to force her to marry the prince. Blitz seems interested in learning more about the essential nature of humans. He is portrayed in a manner that adds a touch of uniqueness since he is a dragon that doesn't pillage or cause arsons like the others. What I read showed nuances of humor. Plus, I perceive some criticism embedded in the plot. For example, the commentary that for humans, taxation is like a form of tyranny or that they are locking up their own kind. What I read left the expectation about what happened after Blitz intervened when Prince Floric was going to take Princess Azania by force. However, the sample didn't completely capture me, as I'm not a fan of fantasy and sci-fi genres. The editing looked outstanding since I didn't see any details to comment on. Overall, I didn't see anything that I believe could be improved. In summary, I will not read the rest of the book.

I would not have sampled this book based on the genre, blurb, OBC review, cover, title, and customer reviews. I didn’t see any editorial reviews on this book. I didn’t want to read this book about a dragon, and science-fiction and fantasy books usually aren’t for me. After reading the first ten pages, I won’t be finishing this book. I liked the map at the beginning of the book. I always like maps as a way to set the stage for a book. However, the story itself isn’t for me. It starts off talking about Blitz and how dragons are supposed to start their pillaging in small villages and then work up. This story is not my type of story even though it does seem to be well written. There isn’t anything specific that needs improvement. The book did seem to be professionally edited.

This is not a book I would normally read; I also was not interested by the official OBC review. I did not spot any grammatical errors in the first ten pages. I was not interested in what was happening. The musing of what a dragon is supposed to be, and what Blitz is not, was not engaging to me. I do think the author did have nice descriptions though. As I was not interested in the plot of the first ten pages I will not be finishing this book.

Before reading the book's first pages, I wasn't interested in it because nothing on the cover or the title got my attention. After sampling the book, I don't want to continue reading it because the story didn't captivate me. I like that the dragon was upset about prince Floric sexually abusing the princess, I like that he has a conscience. This book seems professionally edited, I didn't see any typos; plus, it has an official OnlineBookClub review. I didn't see anything that needed improvement.

At first glance, I thought the cover of this book looked really cool and the title was unique. After reading the Amazon blurb, I would not have sampled this book because it seems like it is for a younger audience. The first few pages were well edited. It was kind of funny to hear humans described as "two-legged cockroaches". The official OBC review, customer reviews and comments were all positive. I will not be reading the rest of this book because I am not a huge fan of fantasy and this book is a part of a series. The reviews and comments did not change my mind. I do not have any suggestions for the author.

I think both the cover and the title are eye-catching. I really enjoy reading this genre. The blurb is very concise yet has a great amount of detail to let the reader know what the book is about. The book has a lot of reviews, and most of them are relatively good. Within the first ten pages, I found no errors. I really liked how the map was added; I thought it was a great addition to the start. I also loved how the author chose to describe the dragon. Within the first ten pages, there was nothing I disliked. The Online Book Club review I read spoke of the details and the action throughout the book. Based on the aforementioned, I will be reading this book. This book is the first in a series of four so far, and I look forward to reading them.

I believe the first ten pages were a very interesting read. I was immediately drawn into the book after reading the first paragraph and I found it interesting how the book was told from the perspective of a dragon. The way humans were portrayed in his eyes was intriguing as well and made me think of some childhood tales that I used to love. I believe this is a book I would have loved when I was a fifth grader.
Unfortunately, I do not think I will be finishing this book. While I found the first ten pages to be an interesting read, this genre of fiction is one that I have personally outgrown. What I will do though, is recommend this book to my little brother because I believe this is a book he will like.

I am genuinely interested in checking out every new promising fantasy book, and therefore, based on the genre, I would have sampled this book also without the First Ten program. I did not find the cover particularly appealing, but the blurb and other information and details I could find on the book's Amazon page captured my attention. I do not recall reading a book before with a dragon as a protagonist. I loved what I discovered so far, and the sample pages did not let me down or change my first impressions. I loved the character of this peculiar dragon, Blitz. Untypical for his own kind but appearing intellectual, sensitive, and strangely kind personality, I could not help but fall for this dragon. The poor thing obviously was in need of eyeglasses, but his observations of humans were downright hilarious. In addition to loving this character, I also marveled at the author's choice of words. The story floated smoothly, and the text was lively. Even though Prince Floric's and his father's actions sickened me, I could not count them against the book; they were one part of the story. Despite that, I did not find anything to dislike in the book itself. However, it being the first part of the series made me doubtful. This detail can be a double-edged sword as it could go either way; maybe I'd love the book and die for reading the sequels, or perhaps the sequels would ruin the first book, as sometimes happen. Regardless, I decided I wanted to read the book. The Official OnlineBookClub review would have caught my attention and led me to read the sample if I hadn't done it already. Since I already had, the review confirmed my thoughts that I wanted to try reading this book. I could not spot errors from the sample, and I believe this book was professionally edited.

If Call me Dragon hadn't been the OnlineBookClub's book of the day, I would have read the description and sample of this book due to the number of positive Amazon customer reviews it has received. Before I even read the description, I noticed how many reviews there were. The cover is also appealing as well. I like the relationship that Blitz has with the princess; even though he is a dragon, he still has strong emotions that are humanlike. I did not notice any grammatical errors, and there is nothing that I disliked or thought needed improvement. After reading the sample, I decided I wanted to finish the book because of how humanlike Blitz is. Even though there is an official OnlineBookClub review for this title, I did not need to read it to know I wanted to finish this book.

The cover of this book has a very dramatic scene with a dragon breathing fire. It caught my attention immediately. It makes me curious about the book. It seems like it will be full of action and adventure. The title is also interesting. I would have picked this book up based on the cover alone because I want to learn more about the dragon. The onlinebookclub.org review that I read gave the book a perfect score and recommended it to readers who enjoy action and fantasy novels. It also noted that the book was exceptionally edited without any errors. I didn’t see any errors in the first ten pages, so I believe the book was professionally edited. I also didn’t see any area that the author could improve upon. I didn’t read any additional customer reviews or blurbs because the OBC review was very detailed. The first ten pages were told from the point of view of the dragon. The dragon is named Blitz the Devastator. After napping all day, Blitz decides to pillage for food. Blitz briefly describes life as a dragon and seems to abhor humans. It is a very interesting twist to have the story told by the dragon. It makes me want to finish reading the book. For that reason, I would like to finish reading this book.

The cover, title, and genre caught my attention. Even outside the program called the first ten, I would have sampled this book. I could not find any editorial reviews. But a ton of customer reviews influenced me to look into this book. The OBC official review gave me the insights and compelled me to read the first ten pages. After reading the first ten pages, I realized that the book was not professionally edited because I found some grammatical errors in the free sample. For example, the sentence, "How was it that no Human had contrived to spot a fifty-three foot mud-brown Devastator perched upon the highest tower of their castle, all day?" This sentence could be as follows. "How was it that no Human had contrived to spot a fifty-three foot mud-brown Devastator perched upon the highest tower of their castle all day?" In this sample, I liked the world building with the unusual fantasy elements like the tower interiors. From the sample, I learned that this book follows the adventures of a dragon. Unfortunately, from the details given in the narrative, I could not picturize the scenes. Therefore, I will not buy and read this book today. My suggestion to the author is to describe the scenes giving as much details. A round of professional editing would be great.

I would have selected the book based on the cover and title. The cover is intriguing. I particularly like the image of the dragon on the cover. I would also have selected the book based on a blurb, customer or editorial review. However, I will not buy and read the whole book because I am not a fan of sci-fi novels. I like that the author used pictures to shed more light on some parts of the book. The dialogues between the characters are well articulated. There are no errors in the first ten pages of the book. The book has no OBC review and I wasn't influenced by that.

Because I am not interested in dragon stories, I would not have chosen this book to read. I liked the tongue-in-cheek humor of the Amazon blurb, but it did not convince me to read the book. Although the OBC review was four stars, I was still not convinced to read the book. I liked the artwork on the cover and on the map at the beginning. I thought reading the dragon's viewpoint on taxation was clever. I did not find any errors other than stylistic sentence fragments. I am not going to finish reading the book because it is not a genre that I enjoy. I do not have any suggestions for the author.

I like to read fantasy books. The synopsis for this book is interesting and the Official OnlineBookClub review of this book is helpful too. There are some favorable Amazon reviews too. After reading the sample, I haven't changed my mind. I still want to read this book. I like the writing style. The dragon is very sarcastic and funny with his inner thoughts. I found him very funny and likable. Even his name is funny. I didn't notice any errors, and I wouldn't change anything about the book. The cover is impactful.

If I hadn't found this sample in the first ten pages of this program, I would have chosen to read this book based on the cover, title, genre, customer reviews, and the blurb. The cover was catchy and hinted at historical fiction, adventure, fantasy, or sci-fi that the book might be about. The cover looks perfect and lovely. I didn't mind the color of the background picture. The name of the author and the title of the book look perfect on the cover. The cover seems to be of high quality as well, which I like very much.
I will continue reading the rest of the book because even though the story is just developing in the first ten pages, I can see how the dragon story, narration, and choice of words make it worth reading. It seems as authentic and realistic as possible. I liked how Marc was blending and embellishing the dragon's character, as the storyline development was getting more intense and interesting. He was showing the perspective of the dragon and the interesting relationship between the dragons and humans. This story opens my eyes to how huge, intelligent, fierce, and fantastic these dragon creatures are. My lesson from the sampling of the first ten pages is that the dragons are not perfect, but neither are we humans. We just want to all survive the danger and hunger of this world.
The book seemed professionally edited. I didn't notice any errors or typos in the first ten pages: book cover, copyright, table of contents (chapters 1 to 34), about the author, and map. But I did notice some formatting issues in chapter one of the first ten pages.
What could be improved would be the formatting issues, which should be looked into. The underlines within the table of contents should be addressed.
What I liked about the bit that I read was the choice of words Marc used while narrating the story. The way he wrote made me believe he couldn't have been a first-time writer. He wrote like an experienced and intelligent writer.
The book “Call Me Dragon” by Marc Secchia has an OnlineBookClub forum review that I noticed. But this didn't affect my decision.

I was fortunate to get and read the novel's sample. The first ten pages I read were jam-packed with action. The story of dragons appears to be the focus of the book. This is due to the fact that the narrative opens with a dragon perched atop the tallest tower of the largest castle in the land. Additionally, it is clear from the book's title and cover that this story has dragons. In my opinion, the feature of this book that I liked the most in the first few pages I read was the cover. It was expertly created to match the book's subject and content. Even though I adore reading fantasy books, I won't buy and finish this one. I made this choice since I don't enjoy reading serial novels. This does not imply that I despise the book. I'll only recommend it to other readers who enjoy reading fantasy books in series. There were no grammatical or spelling problems in the first few pages I read. The book appears to have undergone professional editing, in my opinion. Because I don't read series novels, rather than the book's cover, editorial remarks, or official review, I chose not to purchase and complete reading it. This novel should not, in my opinion, be altered in any manner. It is good as it is.

I got the first ten pages of this book's sample and read them. A dragon by the name of Blitz the Devastator, who is perched atop one of the highest towers in the land, is first introduced to us in the book's opening pages. In the few pages I read, there was a lot said about this character. I particularly enjoyed the plot's flow in the first few pages that I read. The novel appears to be engaging, and the plot is moving along well. The first ten pages I read had nothing in them that I didn't like. This book, in my opinion, was well-written, well-edited, and entertaining; therefore, there is no need to make any additional improvements. I don't read a lot of fantasy books. This book is in the fantasy genre, so I won't buy it or read it all the way through. This book has an official review. Additionally, this book includes a number of reader comments that help illuminate its subject matter. The official review, customer reviews, or the book's stunning cover did not influence my decision not to purchase or complete reading it; rather, I chose not to buy and finish reading it because of the book's category. This book had expert editing, as was already noted. I made that statement since I didn't notice any errors in the first few pages I sampled. Even still, I wouldn't have chosen to buy and complete reading this book with or without official approval. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys reading dragon-related novels.

Call Me Dragon by Marc Secchia is a fast-paced fantasy novel. The first ten pages of the book contain the scene where Blitz the Devastator and Princess Azania N’gala meet. These two are the main characters of the book. I would have read this book without the first ten programs being the reason. This is because of the intriguing title, the eye-catching cover, and the OnlineBookClub reviews of the book that I read. I did not bother to check for the editorial review, customer review, or blurb since I had already made up my mind to read this book. I am very interested in reading this book because of how captivating the first ten pages are. The storyline is intriguing and captivating. Therefore, I would love to buy and read the book. This book seems professionally edited, as I did not notice any grammatical or typographical errors while reading the first ten pages of the book. I like how funny the scenes I read are. It makes me want to read on. I do not see anything that needs to be improved. I read an OnlineBookClub official review. It convinced me of how interesting the book is.

This fantasy book, Call Me Dragon by Marc Secchia, seems intriguing and action-packed. The book's first ten pages made me realize that it was the first in a series of fantasy books written by this exceptional author. The book's first chapter, "The High Tower," can be found among the first ten pages I've read. A dragon may be seen perched on the tallest tower of the largest castle in the entire country in the opening pages of the same chapter. The inclusion of the map of Solixambria in the first ten pages I read was the aspect I liked the most. Understanding this element of the novel is necessary to fully appreciate it. I didn't find anything in the first ten pages of this book that I didn't like. I didn't find any errors in the first ten pages I read, so it appears that the editing was done superbly and professionally. Fantasy literature is not my favorite. As a result, I won't be purchasing and finishing reading this book. I will, nevertheless, recommend it to anyone who enjoys enchanting fantasy books. Due to the book's genre, which I don't particularly enjoy reading, I decided not to buy and finish it. I also enjoyed the book's cover. It was stylish and well-designed. A well-written official review of the book provided a summary of its main themes. I chose not to purchase and complete reading this book despite the cover, editorial reviews, and official review. The book is alright and doesn't require any more work.

Although this book has received numerous positive customer and OBC reviews, I was reluctant to read the sample because the plot of the story involving humans and dragons did not seem unique to me, despite the artistic cover design. I also found some overly long sentences in the sample with incorrect punctuations ('Here he perched atop the tallest tower of the greatest castle in all the land, contemplating a little recreational pillaging, {remove comma} and all he had managed to do so far was to enjoy a long snooze in the glorious sunshine.). That said, although I loved the detailed map of the fantasy land, I shall not be finishing this book because the writing style seems to be too fancy for me. I would suggest simplifying it a little to better grab the reader's attention.

If it wasn't for this program, I wouldn't sample this book based on its title, cover, genre, blurb, Official OnlineBookClub review, or other reviews because I am not a big fan of fantasy novels, and dragons have never caught my attention. After reading the first ten pages, I will not continue reading the book because dragons are a subject I'm simply not interested in. From what I read, my favorite part was the dragon's thoughts. I liked the way Blitz expressed himself about humans – I found it amusing, especially when he would talk about their smell or weird rituals. The book appears professionally edited, and it doesn't need improvement.

The title and the cover art of this book were the first aspects that made me want to know more about it. Reading the OBC review for this book, I was excited by the prospect of an unconventional novel about dragons. I am an avid reader of this type of fantasy, but I have only read one series that presents the dragon as good and caring. Reading the first few pages proved to be enjoyable beyond my hopes. My favorite part is the internal struggle of a dragon to make himself fierce despite his kind heart. I found Blitz's sense of humor and uncontrollable urge to do the right thing endearing and endearing. It is well-written and I found no errors. I have found nothing to not like about this book.

The cover caught my attention quickly with the picture of the dragon on it. I enjoy reading fantasy stories and would have sampled this book. I enjoyed how descriptive Blitz's personality was written. His disdain for humans was contradictory since he displayed human emotion. There was a small error noted. I would change nothing about this story, as I found nothing to dislike. The OBC review did not influence my decision to continue reading the book. I did not read anything online to alter my choice. I enjoyed what I read and am curious to see what happens between the princess and dragon.
ERROR: As the biggest denizen of his Dragon Clan measuring a whopping fifty-three feet from nose tip to tail spike Blitz should have been a tyrant.
There should be a comma after the word Clan.

The cover of “Call me Dragon” piques my interest in reading the series. The novel cover promises adventure and fantasy, as does the title. After just the title and book cover, I would read the book. The official OBC review was equally as intriguing and well-written. The reviewer did an excellent job of outlining the plot and the genre without giving out spoilers. I wanted to read the book after seeing the review. I do love fantasy and sci-fi genres, so this would also encourage me to read the novel and series.
I noticed zero errors in the first ten pages of the book. The part I liked most about the sample was the description of the dragon and his desire to nap and stay away from the smelly humans. This description was cute and something I’ve never seen in a dragon book before. The part I most dislike is how the humans spoke, similar to old English. It just took a bit more concentration to decipher what they meant.
After reading the sample, I will not finish the book. I felt sad for the dragon and his poor relationship with his father and also for the princess in her dire situation. I hate feeling pain and sadness in animals or other creatures, so I stay away from books whose main characters aren’t human. I don’t think there’s anything the author can improve. This book is not my ideal storyline but is unique, and I appreciate that fact.

This book had a lot of customer reviews on Amazon and a well-written official OnlineBookClub review. This book takes a new look at dragons and changes the way we look at them. I enjoy reading fantasy books so I would read this based on the cover, blurb, title, genre, customer reviews, and the official OnlineBookClub review. I liked the writing style the author used. It seemed laid back and easy to follow. Blitz is one dragon I would have liked to meet.
The book needs no improvements and the sample was professionally edited. I will be reading this book because I enjoy fantasy books with dragons and this seems like a very interesting one.

You had me at 'Dragon'. With dragon in the title I would have been interested in this book even without the First Ten program. Dragons and elves are two of my favorite creatures. I really liked the cover as well. The synopsis was well-written and revealed that the dragon had an actual personality. I liked that the dragon wasn't portrayed as a mindless creature of destruction. Being the first book in a series is a bonus. I didn't read the OnlineBookClub review or the Amazon customer reviews.
The book seemed to be professionally edited. I have no suggestions for improvements. I liked the map at the beginning. Maps help to bring reality into the story. The part I liked best was how Blitz (the dragon) had an emotional response to Prince Floric wanting to force himself upon the princess who was chained to the bed. Blitz's desire to rescue the princess from the prince showed him to be a dragon of honor.
Upon reaching the end of the first ten pages I had a strong desire to continue reading. I will be reading the whole book.

This is not the type of book I usually read so I wouldn't read it based on the cover, blurb, title, or genre. I would read it based on the official OnlineBookClub review, the sample, and the customer reviews. The author presents dragons in a very unique way. What I liked about the sample was how hilarious it was. Blitz seems like a very likable character. The book needs no improvements and the sample was professionally edited. After reading the first ten pages, I am intrigued to know what happens next. I will be reading this book because the storyline seems intriguing.

The title and cover seem like a story filled with action and adventure, while the blurb hints at humor. Customer reviews have mixed feedback. I am not much into fantasy and magic. Hence, I will skip this book outside the program. After sampling, I liked that the story seems to offer a commentary on social norms and stereotypes. However, the initial pages did not build enough intrigue to pique my curiosity. Also, the pace is slow to my liking. I have no suggestions for improvement. For editing issues, here is an example.
Page 2. Grammar. It seems the pronoun does not fit in this context. Consider changing to “their.”
He had long since worked out that all the good, shiny stuff decent Dragons salivated over day and night made [its] way to these big stone castles, where the ones who wore fancy animal skins flaunted their wealth and station.
The official OnlineBookClub review has helpful insights. But I will pass.

I enjoyed the dragon’s perspective. He doesn’t impress his sire and he finds humans barbaric for eating roots and imprisoning each other, so he declines to attack them. This is quite a unique dragon so far, so I’m curious to see how the story develops. The OBC review mentions he does eventually capture the Princess and they develop a relationship. I’m definitely interested in that aspect too. I didn’t see any errors so I have no suggestions to make improvements. I love the cover and the title is funny. I like fantasy, but don’t read it much outside of the program. This book had a lot of customer reviews, mostly positive, so that’s a good reason to read this book. I didn’t see any blurbs, but I like the illustrated pictures on the sales page that helped introduce the characters. I also didn’t notice any editorial reviews.

When Princess Azania of T’nagru refuses to marry Prince Floric, she is kidnapped by King Tyloric and his son. Blitz the Devastator decides to rescue the princess from her captors and later ransom her in order to build a reputation as a fierce, honorable, rich, and powerful dragon. Because I am not fond of novels that contain elements of fantasy, I would not have read the book based on the genre. I liked the eye-catching cover and found the Amazon blurb informative, but neither the OBC review nor the first ten pages convinced me to read the whole book. I enjoyed the realistic dialogues, and some scenes were so hilarious that made me laugh out loud as I sampled the book. However, the writing style was too descriptive for my taste. I also noticed some distracting punctuation and grammatical errors. For example, the interrupter "of course" should be surrounded by commas in the following sentence: "His guffaw was of course, a tower-shaking explosion of male draculinity." (page 13) It should be written "in a trembling voice" in the following sentence: "'I speak four languages, mighty Dragon,' she said politely, still in trembling voice." (page 17) There should not be a comma after "breath" in the following sentence: "She drew a shallow breath, and did not screech again." (page 15) I would suggest another round of editing. There were no editorial reviews, but the book had numerous positive customer reviews; it will surely appeal to those who enjoy reading dragon stories filled with adventure and magic.

My least favorite part of what I read was when, in Blitz’s hearing, King Tyloric urged Prince Floric to "make" the princess his. I did enjoy the map in the beginning, however. I’m not going to finish this novel, even though I find it very entertaining. It is the first book in a series, and I don’t want to start one that I cannot finish. I didn’t find any editorial reviews on this book, but the customer reviews that I found were overwhelmingly positive. The OBC review and the blurb commented on the humor of Blitz and also recommended this book highly. On the cover, the dragon, who I assume is Blitz, looks fierce, and I guess that the title refers to some sort of transformation that he goes through. I hope he makes his father proud if that is, indeed, important to him.

The book cover is spectacular and would immediately make me pick this book up if I would see it in a bookstore. The customer reviews, blurb and OBC review confirm that this is exactly the genre I love, and make me want to read the sample. The sample is professionally edited, and the writing style is engaging. I liked how, right from the first page, Blitz presents himself as a kind of anti hero. Not the typical dragon you might expect. As I consider this a very original point of view, I have decided to read the rest of the book. I have no suggestions for improvement.

I'm not really a fan of fantasy books, so I wasn't particularly interested in this book upon seeing its cover, OBC review, blurb, and Amazon reviews. Especially dragon stories tend to be too unrealistic. I have to say that I liked seeing a colored map. It made this book seem professional. The book begins from the perspective of a dragon, Blitz the Devastator. This perspective seems unique to me. It was also entertaining to read because of all the funny remarks. Surprisingly, after reading a few pages, I decided that this book is worth it, so I'm going to read it. It was definitely entertaining and captivating to have this unique perspective. Blitz seems like an amazing character. I would love to see what happens next. There is nothing I wish to change about what I read. I didn't encounter any grammar issues, so I conclude that the book is professionally edited.

I am very sad to say that if I was not part of this program I would not have read this book. I am glad they had this book for today, although I do not like the genre, this is one book I have to finish reading. I love the cover, and the name, it suits the story. This book is very different from all the other "dragon kidnaps princess" stereotypes. I love the humor in the book, it is definitely refreshing. There is nothing that I disliked about this book. I would finish it and see whether Blitz is accepted by his clan in the end. I have no suggestions for the author. I found no spelling or grammar mistakes in the first ten pages of this book. No other reviews, OBC or otherwise, or blurbs, influenced my decision. This was solely based on the first ten pages of this book.

'Call Me Dragon' is a fantasy novel written by Marc Secchia. Blitz the Devastator was a disgrace to dragons. He saw no point in pillaging or destruction. One day, he comes across Princess Azania. The princess was being compelled to marry Prince Florida by his father. I like the witty dialogues. Blitz is an endearing character. I want to see how things play out between Blitz and Azaria. So, I will definitely read the book. The book is well-edited. Nothing is in need of improvement. The OBC review is insightful. I would have read this book based on the cover, title, genre, blurb, editorial reviews, and customer reviews as I like the unlikely premise of a dragon falling for a princess.

This book has a beautiful cover, and I loved the colorful map before Chapter 1. The map was what I probably liked best about the book. But from the Official OBC Review, I was certain I wouldn't be reading this. Dragon fantasies aren't my thing, especially when they speak with humans. If anything, the Official Review influenced me to skip this book. I read no other reviews or blurbs. After reading the first ten pages, I knew I'd read no further. This isn't a genre of even remote interest. There wasn't much of anything that I liked about what I read, and I especially found the dialogue of the humans to be stilted as opposed to the interior monologue of the dragon. Although, I did like the Princess' retort calling the Prince "Floric the Flatulent." That was humorous. I suppose that the book was professionally edited as I found no errors. I have no recommendations for improvement.

"Call me Dragon" by Marc Secchia is a sci-fi that focuses on the struggles of Blitz. I liked the fearsome dragon on the book cover and found its art design suitable for the catchy title. I did not find any editorial review for this book. I sampled it because of its positive customer reviews and its Official OnlineBookClub review, which made me curious about the origins of the dragons. The book seems exceptionally well edited. I discovered no error while reading its first ten pages. I would not improve anything on the writing style because I liked the specific tone of the fantasy with dragons and captured princesses. I enjoyed Blitz's comments about humans and liked Princess Azania's intense personality. Nevertheless, I will not buy and read the whole book because I am not interested in stories about magic, dungeons, and mystical creatures.

I would still have sampled this book if I had not been part of the OBC program. The cover art is excellent, and the title is intriguing, but that isn't why I would read it. I am not usually interested in fantasy fiction, but when I read the Amazon blurb, I was interested in the character of Blitz, who is not a typical dragon, and the fact that the Princess was so feisty that Blitz had a hard time with her.
When I sampled the book, I liked its humor and the thoughts Blitz had when he first encountered the Princess. The idea of not having to pillage and plunder villages and instead earning his prizes by capturing the Princess drew me into the story. I have no dislikes or suggestions for change in the pages I read. I also didn't see any errors.
I read the official OBC book review of Call Me Dragon and became even more interested in reading it. I will read it for its entertainment and humor. I think it'll be a fun and light read. I have already downloaded it.

After reviewing the title, genre, cover, blurb, and review of this book, I might have read this book. The book sounded funny and contained a plot that I think that I would enjoy. After reading the first ten pages I didn't change my mind and therefore will reading the rest of this book since I already have my copy. I thoroughly enjoyed the humorous internal banter that Blitz gave off throughout the sample I read. Between comments as mundane as "double blergh" to deeper ones like "even a Dragon must reel and catch his breath", the text had me chuckling early. Although the book looked well written and edited, there was an error that I picked up on. Although arguably a style choice (I debated as to whether or not I should mention it), the author uses the generic term "Princesses" with a capital letter. Most of the times it can be argued to be correct as they are talking about a specific princess, but others (when entirely generic) should be lowercase. This was the case with the sentence on page 4/424 in the Kindle version, "Capturing Princesses, although not often mentioned in Dragon lore, used to be a celebrated draconic past time". The thing I would have improved from the sample I read is extremely mundane. I have always disliked when an author starts a chapter with part of a sentence entirely in uppercase letters. This, to me, is entirely unnecessary. There was an official OBC review, but it did not affect my decision at all.

The cover is excellent, but I rarely pick fantasy books so it wouldn't have caught my attention. The premise is original, which I applaud since most fantasy books seem pretty much the same lately. But since I'm not a fan of the genre and don't know the author's work, I wouldn't have bought the book based on my first impressions, despite the high ratings.
The first ten pages pleasantly changed my mind. This book is hilarious! Some expressions are just funny (i.e. "afternoon’s casual arson,") some are observations of the human condition (i.e. "Humans did a lot of leaking – nostrils, eyes and mouths, all so disgustingly moist,") and some are even a way of social commentary (i.e. "apparently, Humans called this form of tyranny taxation.") But they all made laugh and enjoy, and I always appreciate clever humor, so I decided to buy the book. I didn't find editing mistakes or something I disliked. I suggest adding an extract of the book to the blurb because the narration style is what makes this book so appealing. The official OBC review furthered my enthusiasm for the book.

I am not fond of fantasy books about dragons, so I would not have checked out the book based on the dragon cover, title, or genre. The customer reviews, blurb, and the OnlineBookClub review did not change my mind about this book. There were no editorial reviews to influence my decision. I must admit, though, I enjoyed the author’s humor in the first ten pages. I had to laugh at wool getting stuck between Blitz the Devastator’s fangs and him having a scale rash. Although the book appeared professionally edited, I did spot an error on Page 5: “They made [of] (delete) this practice an art.” I have no suggestions for the author because the only thing I disliked about this book is that it is about dragons. I am sure others will enjoy this book. Although I downloaded the free copy of the book, I will not finish reading it because I do not enjoy reading about dragons.

Total ~ 50%
Call me Dragon earned a score of 50%.
In other words, out of the top-level reviewers who read at least the first 10 pages of this book, 50% plan to read the whole book.
IMPORTANT: Any score over 10% is considered very good. And any score above 0% is acceptable.
Over a million books are published each year. Any given person could not even read .0001% of the books out there. This means readers have to be very selective. Even taking the time to look over reviews and blurbs, let alone read samples, is more time than most readers can afford for most books. The First Ten is a powerful focus group that addresses those issues. It creates a helpful tool for authors, publishers, and other readers.
