Who Told You That You Were Naked? A Refreshing Reexamination of the Garden of Eden by William E. Combs is a book written with a unique perspective and great insight on the Bible particularly the events of the Garden of Eden. The author’s writing style is fascinating with exceptional English; I had to look up several words.. There are ten chapters and a summary of questions towards the end of each chapter, meant for personal reflection and or discussion. The questions are answered in the subsequent chapters.

The author clearly has a vast knowledge of the Bible and deep faith in God and he explains how he got into a deeper relationship with God in the first chapters. He uses Bible passages and personal testimonies including his wife testimonies in the book making it an interesting read. The book discusses about the creation, Adam and Eve, the serpent in the garden, sin, faith in God, believing in Jesus Christ for our salvation among other content to give insight to the reader.

The author does “reexamine” as per the title of the book and gives an interesting view of what he envisaged happened in the Garden of Eden. He portrays and gives imagination to the reader in an effort to make an understanding to the first chapters of creation in the book of Genesis from the Bible. He furthermore reexamines the relationship between God, Adam and Eve. He expounds on the relationship between human beings and God after Adam and Eve.

This book is quite encouraging and requires some thoughtfulness to appreciate it. It is also very informative and requires time to go through it. I would consider it to be debatable and some may differ with his explanations on certain issues. However, he makes a pretty strong case for his clarifications which makes it a thought provoking book.

It is a great book for Christians and also non-Christians to be able to get a different perspective and to enjoy the book too. I would recommend it for a bible study groups as well. Overall the author does a great job with the book with no noticeable grammatical errors. I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars and I recommend it.
