A lifelong friend, sisters, and an adventurous weekend ahead, Lucy should have been excited, but instead, she was weary. The morning her sister Emily pronounced her love for Lucy’s lifelong friend Jace, it became the start of Lucy’s next journey. What Emily didn’t know was that Lucy had the same feelings toward Jace. For years Lucy has tried to ignore her feelings, but then some subtle hints from Jace left her confused. As Lucy gets ready, a letter from her birth father arrives with a plane ticket so Lucy can finally meet him and hopefully her twin brother who had been missing is whole life. The plane ticket would have her sent to the states within the next few months.
As Jace and the girls headed to his family’s summer home where they would meet up with his parents, Lucy tried to control her feelings. As hard as she tried, her feelings wouldn’t go away and at some point, during the weekend Jace started to pursue her. This pursuit causes many problems and Lucy believes it may destroy her friendship, but Jace is persistent.
A Little Lost A Little Found by H.M. Irwing follows the story of Jace and Lucy’s friendship as well as Jace and Lucy’s personal story. Readers learn of the friendship between Jace and Lucy, but also the struggles that they face individually. The title, A Little Lost A Little Found perfectly describes Lucy and Jace. Both Lucy and Jace were lost in their own way but found themselves through each other. Although they understood each other more than anyone, they know that they are risking their friendship.
I like the storyline and the development of the characters. H.M. Irwing simultaneously focuses on Lucy and Jace’s growth/struggles as individuals and the growth/struggles of their relationship. The only parts I found displeasing were the grammatical errors that I found throughout the book. There weren’t many, but the errors were noticeable. The storyline line of Lucy reuniting with her father and Jace trying to overcome the problems with his parents is a main theme throughout the book. This theme portrays the positives and the negatives that could affect Jace and Lucy’s potential relationship.
After reading the book, I decided to rate it 3 out of 4 stars, because I found the storyline to be captivating. I had no major dislikes and only found some errors during the progression of the story. H.M. Irwing did an amazing job at creating an exhilarating story that captures the reader's attention.
