WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU WERE NAKED?
By William E. Combs.
Who told you that you were naked was the question God asked Adam when he came to visit them as he usually does, but because of the knowledge of good and evil that they acquired with the help of Eve. The serpent deceived Eve and told Eve that they would be like God if they ate the forbidden fruit. The knowledge of good
and evil opened their eyes.
The knowledge of good and evil affected God relationship with Adam and his wife. Their sin brought relational and spiritual death to the world. The author defined spiritual death as when we are separated from the lord while relational death is when the insecurities and self-depreciation brought on by an inner sense of nakedness that alienates the participant from each other by replacing trust, compassion and unconditional love with suspicion and a shattered self-worth. The knowledge of good and evil enslaves us to sin and death. In other to correct the mistakes of Adam and Eve. God salvation is in Christ Jesus and is available through faith. For the role of Jesus in salvation history is that he fixed the two deaths that was brought upon we humans.
For those who seek the truth, the book is filled with understanding of the word of God. The book is easy to comprehend, I like the arrangement of the book, I liked the introduction of the book where the author talked about the importance of light using an illustration of when he first encountered light. Examples was also given where necessary to show cases of a particular topic. Also personal testimonies were included in the book which it main aim is to increase the faith of the readers and that there is God who is still capable of performing wonders and miracles in this generation.
I do not have any problem with the book, because I clearly gained from the book, it is very clear and educating. I did not discover any grammatical or spelling error in the book. Because it is a religious book, the book might not be welcomed by people that have their own beliefs and faith. But I hope they have enough patience to see how wonderful the book really is.
I give the book 4 out of 4 stars. . it is fun reading the book, I didn’t know when I finished reading the book. The book can be read by anybody capable of reading. The book is not only for adult, Christians but also for children and he who seek more understanding of the word of God.
