Review of The Eve Code
[Following is a volunteer review of "The Eve Code" by Mariett Ramm.]
Nowadays, reading about empowerment almost seems superfluous. It is very sad that in the XXI century, we still have to discuss topics such as racial differences, gender equality, and many more that can upset the stomach. Unfortunately, these are still current topics, and there is a very long path to be discovered amongst us.
That’s precisely what The Eve Code by Mariett Ramm is about. The brilliant author shares her thoughts and lessons on how to empower women in several fields of their lives, but especially in a way that the confidence they create in themselves can be transparent and the main weapon to harmoniously join all of these fields.
I must say that I loved one aspect of this book. The author could easily develop a sense of hate or superiority towards the male gender while talking about empowering women; however, that is not what the author wanted to transmit. Women can be empowered and can gain confidence and peace of mind without ever affecting the male gender. It is about being equal and not better than the other, and this book describes precisely this mindset and how it can be achieved. After all, the author didn’t create a fiction book, but rather a very logical and researched piece of literature that can help many women raise their voices when they have to and create a safe and confident space to navigate.
Another aspect I enjoyed was the mention of several historical backgrounds, ideologies, or religions to describe and explain some of the aspects the author was trying to transmit. After all, when the examples chosen to explain something are both immersive and fascinating, the result in our memories can only be the same. I remember a specific story in the book, about Greek mythology about Sophia, the goddess of spiritual wisdom, that resonated with me. Despite having read the book a few days ago, I keep remembering this goddess throughout the day as I use her story as empowerment.
Overall, I don’t think I can point out any downside to this book. The editing is excellent, and the book deserves 5 out of 5 stars, without a doubt.
Regarding my recommendation of this book, I would highly recommend it not only to women, even though it seems to be the main target, but also to men who want to understand a bit more about some of the struggles women face, especially in the corporate world, and how to help them or even apply the book’s teaching to themselves, as most of the advice and stories can resonate, in my opinion, with any human being.
