We all know how important it is for parents to ask their children every day about how their day at school was. It stimulates their thoughts and their learnings at school as they share their experience of the day. But if you want to make asking this question a little fun and exciting for your children, I would highly suggest you get a copy of this book, What did you do at school today? by C.C. Lacavera.

This book presents a fun and creative approach to asking children about their day at school through generic yet thought-provoking and diverse questions with a hint of adventurous exploration to parents. The reason I mentioned adventurous exploration is because this book can take the imagination of children on an adventurous ride. Because alongside thoughtful questions like "What did you learn?" "What did you play?" "Did you share a snack and make a friend happy?" There were also questions like, "Did you roam around the world in a hot air balloon?" "Did you zoom up to space and visit the moon?" These questions will make children ponder such ambitions and broaden their imaginations. The questions weren't written generically as I wrote; rather, the author presented the questions in rhyming verse, which made the book more interesting and exciting for the kids.

I remember when I was a child, my mother would ask me every day how my day at school was, and I remember giving her a half answer sometimes as I was too exhausted some days. My younger self would love it if my mother asked me that question with this book in hand. This book makes the sharing experience more enjoyable. And that is what I liked most about this book. I can tell the author put a lot of thought into putting the questions together and aligned them in a rhyme. Big applause for the creativity. And the ending was perfect to conclude the book. Also, I haven't noticed any mention of an illustrator in the book, but I must say that the pictures added depth to the words. Without those, the book might lose its color. The illustrations were beautiful and artistic and will put a smile on the face of a child. And not to mention that the book will make the conversation between parents and their children more delightful.

There is nothing to dislike about this book. It is professionally edited, and I found the book quite captivating. With that in mind, there are no reasons not to give this book a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to all parents who have children aged between 3-8 and anyone looking for a delightful gift for their niece or nephew because that's what I'm thinking of. It was enlightening to review this book.
