As a Pediatric Developmental Therapist and an Early Childhood Educator, selecting suitable literature is vital. This book was age-appropriate for the assigned age group and fascinating to my five and six-year-old children. Furthermore, my nine-year-old found the story genuinely engaging. It had simple plots that elicited imagination while touching upon basic concepts such as senses, numbers, letters, and shapes. It featured simple text and high-contrast images to stimulate auditory recognition and visual perception.

The narrative engages children and motivates them to reflect on their school experiences. This book capitalizes on childhood curiosity, social exchanges, self-discovery, friendship, learning, play, and actions, including fine and gross motor activities. It promotes literacy and fosters communication between the child and the parent/caregiver. Further, the book can be used to expand on learning environments, experiences, and social dynamics in schools while modeling conversational skills such as active listening, making inquiries, answering questions, and turn-taking. It would be a great addition to our book collection.

Rating 5/5, as the book had all the stylistic features characteristic of a narrative, including narrative flow, rhyme, and tone. The author illustrated vivid images and well-crafted sentences.

The plot is enjoyable throughout the entire story. This includes an intriguing day of events and a well-paced storyline that enhances the reading experience while increasing a child’s creative thinking skills and imagination. It was NOT a typical day at school and was satisfactory without being foreseeable or contrived.

The author has come up with unique ways of telling the story, and the concepts that the author has introduced are pretty fresh and different from others. This approach differed from the usual themes, greatly influencing my children's reading experiences!

Another criterion applied in this rating was the likability of the character in the story. This is something that my children can relate to at their age. This is important because when the readers identify with the characters, they can develop a connection that will make them appreciate the story even more.
