Breaking the Mold: Remodeling your Way to Success is an inspiring story by Fabian Videla, the owner, and founder of 'Smarter Remodeling Solutions'. The book contains invaluable lessons for entrepreneurs who need a simple and detailed guideline on how to run their businesses. You will learn about key aspects of entrepreneurship, such as networking, branding, customer care, communication skills, financial planning, profit-making, and more. The author also looks into how the law protects the business owner, the customer, and any other relevant party involved in any business. In each chapter, you will read a unique and inspiring story summarized with helpful takeaway lessons from the shared story. The diversity and authenticity of this book come from a blend of Fabian's experiences with those of other successful and renowned entrepreneurs.

Fabian begins by narrating the childhood events that triggered his curiosity, innovation, creativity, and desire for success. The need to fill the gaps forced him to try various businesses at a very young age, unaware that the failures and victories would shape his future. He is an incredible storyteller whose words and emphasis gave me a feeling similar to a one-on-one conversation with him. Fabian explains what you should consider before starting a business, hiring employees, and pricing your goods and services. To help you understand better, he offers simple formulas and logical explanations that make numbers appear friendly. Although my type of business differs from Fabian's, reading this book gave me fresh ideas on how to handle difficult customers, choose my customers, add value to my products, and compete favorably. I am glad that the author included current affairs like the COVID-19 pandemic to explain why and how entrepreneurs can handle unforeseen losses and changes.

I noticed that Fabian placed a lot of emphasis on relationships. He explains the important roles his relationships with his mother, uncle, childhood friends, teacher, children, and other workers played in his successful journey. I liked how Fabian's uncle allowed him to build resilience, treated him equally to other firm workers, and later supported his business. I learned that there are a lot of benefits when there is a positive and supportive relationship between employees and employers. The book starts with an interesting story involving Fabian and his son, where we learn about kindness, the art of selling, and customer retention. My highlight of the book revolves around the controversial topic of couples working together. Couples debating whether to work together in a business will be guided and inspired by the partnership between Fabian and his wife.

The editing team did well; I encountered a few errors that did not interfere with my reading. There is nothing I dislike about this book to deny it a perfect rating. I rate this book five out of five stars because it is inspirational and insightful. I recommend it to experienced and new entrepreneurs.
