"Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book” by Kalliope Barlis is a brief manual designed to assist golfers in advancing their performance rapidly. The book has been written in a manner such that it can easily be referred to by the reader and can conveniently be placed anywhere, preferably in a golf bag, to be consulted at any time. They include procedural advice and guidance; the authors do not take complex ideas and distill them, as many instructional books do. It is the kind of book packed with helpful advice that no sane golfer would disdain, which will make your head spin with the minutiae of the game. Also presented in the book are styles for the mind to help a golfer perform well, especially when faced with pressure. It also presents repeated errors and how not to make them, and this puts the reader in a position to solve problems on the move.

Another major strength of this particular product called “Play Golf Better Faster” is that it is very easy to understand. The author does a great job of taking what could be dense, aural strategy tips that might go over the heads of amateur players such as myself and finding ways to explain them in ways that anyone could relate to. Another benefit it has going for it is that the book is pocket-sized—and therefore is perfect to be picked up as a reference when practicing the game or even while in the middle of a game. The book’s emphasis on mental strategies in addition to physical techniques provides a well-rounded approach to improving one’s golf game.

The book’s greatest strength is also its biggest weakness; it is straightforward, which might not appeal to the more analytical golfers seeking higher techniques. While this approach of focusing on the basics is helpful in the extreme for those who have not yet gotten to grips with the game of golf, it may appear rather simplistic for readers who already know the basics of golf. Also, some of the readers may consider the absence of illustrations in the form of diagrams as a weakness since diagrams may assist in the application of some of the techniques discussed in the book. I'm rating this book a four out of five stars; I believe there is room for improvement on these flaws.

I highly recommend this book, “Play Golf Better Faster,” for anyone who wishes to learn or is a casual golfer and wants a way to master the game in the shortest time possible. The book is beneficial to any person who would like to hone their talent and be ready to play golf with more precision.
