If you have ever been a victim of inequality or racial discrimination, then you will understand how much of a gem this book is. Just as the title states, A Dream For Peace, the author, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, indeed dreamt of a world where every race and country was at peace. Not only did he dream of it, but he also worked hard to make it a reality.

Born into a humble family and with his father dying at a young age, the author's mother took it upon herself to ensure that he had a sound education; she coached him, which laid a strong foundation when it was time to pick a career path. After being awarded a scholarship to study wherever he wanted, the author chose to study medicine at the University of Bordeaux. This was only the start of his remarkable life, as he traveled from country to country, battling racism, injustice, and much more. Eventually, he ventured into politics and even became the advisor and friend of President Houphouët-Boigny. With the author's many contributions and achievements, it is an understatement to say this is a well-lived life.

This book is more than just a memoir; it is a source of inspiration and motivation. The author's life shows that it does not matter where you are from or your family status; all that matters is your desire to make change and be on the right side of history. I learned so much from this book, which was well-written and detailed. The pacing was perfect, as there were no loopholes in the book's timeline. The author's love for Algeria and willingness to go the extra mile to see they had freedom touched my heart.

This book is a treasure trove of learning, and I found much to emulate from the author's story. While I encountered a few errors during my reading, they were not significant enough to detract from the overall reading experience. The book has been professionally edited, and its educational value is undeniable.

I had no dislikes for this book, and for the reasons I mentioned above, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to people who love history and want to change the world.
