This book was authored by Scott L. Chally, The Glorious Beast! is definitely an interesting memoir into the life of a person who proclaims ordainment by God as the Messiah. Faith plays a major role in this book, but it is supplemented by a logical thought process on how a modern Messiah would bring salvation to the world through reforms and a renewed structure in the form of his New World policy.

Scott starts out as an ordinary factory worker before his transformation begins, He then decides to open a business with Ricky and Jimmy, his friend and son, respectively, which would bring success and connections to the cartel they'd never expect. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.

What I actually found interesting was the opportunity to explore the thought process of someone who believes he was given the revelation of being a Messiah. It's not a unique case, as many have actually appeared over the course of history, with quite a few even establishing their own religions. That aside, I do admire the single-minded devotion he exhibited to his ideals, which can teach a lot of readers about the power of determination even when faced with something as powerful as law enforcement and even when being held for psychiatric evaluation.

The protagonist's firm trust in his own divinity is one of the reasons to find this novel objectionable. One may find it intriguing to examine the perspective of someone who feels they are the modern Messiah while others could find this part of the story offensive or even conceited. Some may find it difficult to relate to or empathize with the protagonist because of his lack of humility and self-awareness which might cause them to disengage from the book.

While I do admire the devotion he shows, I find his methods to be on the hard-line spectrum. His belief simply leaves him no room for contemplation but portrays an almost dictatorial acceptance. It is also a bit confusing how complicated Scott's inner musing could get, which detracted from my enjoyment of the book itself. Overall, I gave this book a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.  Scott’s book is certainly a unique read and will probably be best suited to those who are concerned about faith and religion.
