The following is a review of Who Told You That You Were Naked? By William E. Combs.

Who Told You That You Were Naked: A Refreshing Reexamination of the Garden of Eden. By William E. Combs is a non-fiction book that gives us detailed information on how sin came into the world.

Comb, a retired Presbyterian minister explains to us what happened in the Garden of Eden, origin of sin, Faith and Salvation. He attempts to answer a few questions regarding salvation and Christianity. The book is divided into ten chapters each addressing different teachings.

In the earlier chapters, the author takes us through the surroundings of the Garden of Eden and the involvement of the Serpent. We see that Adam and Eve were ashamed of their nakedness after eating the forbidden fruit. The serpent misled the two into thinking that once they ate forbidden fruit they would not die but instead, be like God in terms of knowing good and evil. Combs here explains the consequences of sin as a result of disobedience hence resulting to death of mankind. Different scenarios and occurrences of The Garden of Eden are well elaborated. Through sin, we are able to see the evils of mankind such as murder. Cain was responsible for the death of Abel. Due to Adams actions in the Garden of Eden the Author explains to us a solution being Repentance and Salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Author concludes his story by providing study questions for discussion. I found this to be an excellent idea since it helps the audience to reexamine their salvation. Personally, I loved the personal testimonies included by the writer. It has enabled one to relate the stories to real life events. Based on his theological background Combs has achieved to impact biblical teachings.

Generally I enjoyed reading the book and would recommend it to Christians and new believers who would like to understand the biblical teachings. It is a faith based story that gives a deep understanding of the biblical events and stories. It has good creativity and a great impact and is aimed at changing lives. In addition, it also shows the interpretation of the Garden of Eden.

The writings are in line with the biblical stories. It is well researched. It’s also based on theology. However, most of these events are misleading especially to the new believers. I found most of the events to be exaggerated from the actual events. If one is not familiar with the bible. I found the book very informative and educative. It has been very interesting read. I rate in 4 out of 4 stars.

I am glad to note that you found the book excellent. It is refreshing to see books about faith that are creative and appealing, as they will be more effective evangelistic tools. Many Christian books are boring and thus, don't succeed in livening up the believer's life.

i like your review. i agree with you that of the story line is misleading to new believers. They might confuse, it is suited to those who have knowledge about the bible.

Yes The author was able to make reading the book quite enjoyable

Yes, indeed its suited for those familiar with the Bible.

It's good to know you enjoyed your reading of William Combs' very interesting book, Who Told You That You Were Naked? I was taken hostage by the colourful writing style.
