Who Told You That You Were Naked! This book was written by William E. Combs, a husband to a loving wife Miriam. William comes from a humble family and his first encounter with spiritual light was their homestead in Alaska at age of five. Since then, he has focused deeply on the word to better understand the God he could not see and in order to rejoice in God’s love and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. In this book he has confidently delved into the events through which sin and death entered the world. He has helped the reader to rediscover the glorious Light and Life available to those who believe.
The book starts by expounding on our first parents in the Garden of Eden. It reexamines the circumstances that forced them to leave their Eden lifestyle. In the other hand the book investigates how the devastating consequences of their actions adversely impacted both Cain and Abel and subsequently enslaved all humans. Reexamination of Eden is well explained and begins the journey from the hopelessness of human plight as Adam’s progeny to God’s redemptive solution through faith in Jesus Christ.
I love the way he examines faith and how faith sets us free from a life of sin and death. The book focuses on the faith relationships of different individuals in the bible and also from personal testimonies. He further notes that faith is not a one-time act but a continual walk. The book reaches its pinnacle by delving in our walk with Christ and how it will be met with opposition from our adversary, the devil. Despite everything the world can throw at us, we can rest in the finished work of Christ and concludes by explaining how Jesus Christ calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him.
The approach used to write this book is bible commentary style where the writer has expounded what exactly happened in Eden from the book of Genesis. Amazing and detailed explanation of how sin came to be, its effects and finally the great hope and grace awaiting us the moment we accept Christ as our personal savior. Errors are very minimal and the flow of points is totally coherent and smooth.
I really marveled and admired all through as I read this book filled with deep wisdom and knowledge. I loved the way the he explains hope in Christ and the vast Grace kept in store for all of us sinners. I confidently rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book exhibits a refreshing understanding of the Garden of Eden, the hope, and grace. I recommend this book strongly to Christians, lovers of the bible commentaries and all people with hope of life after earth.
