THE REVIEW OF THE BOOK WHAT DO YOU THINK MR. COLLINS
What do you think Mr. Collins by Neal Bialostosky is a fiction book that talks over a genesis of artificial
intelligence taking over a parallel city to earth, called Paradise. The author started the book at a time when there is a threat to humanity and that crisis made Sidney Maddow, an android inventor, prepare to save humanity in the midst of their incompetence and destruction of this parallel city. Sidney had
invented robots called Nannets and mechbots which were to take over and provide services instead of human beings due to their efficiency, accuracy, and competence. This would avoid pollution while improving energy efficiency and at large save the city from climate change disaster.

The author narrates his story using modern computer language. There are conflicting aspects between
humanitarianism and acceptance of artificial intelligence. An example is the acceptance of robots to do work as many people fear being unemployed. Other people are using AI as a tool for vengeance or for their beneficial purposes, example is the case of Gregory Lind who was enhanced with CE 3000 by Eddie’s family for revenge purposes but himself use it for own benefit. A lot of conflict has been evident in the storyline. Example, Hippleton is researching the existence of free will putting Ben Collins in a dilemma.

The author has used a nice layout with pieces of different stories stitched together to form a continuous story. There are lot of narrations, quotes from other books, and dialogues used as styles to spice up the storybook. The characters are well chosen to fill their gap well and give the book a nice live aspect. Such characters include Everlyne, Nigel, Blackhole, Rumpelstiltskin, Fan Hua, Ben Collins and others. The suspense created enable the reader to read the book even more.

The book suits well young adults and science adventurers, especially in AI. I recommend it to such readers. The text is well-written and easy to read, with very few errors if any. Consequently, I give it a rating of
4/5 and 4/4.
