I rate We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies 5 out of 5 stars.

This book received such a high rating due to the lack of typos and grammatical errors, how well polished the story presented itself, and the level of engagement from the characters. The world building is impressive and has brought to our world a new realm that the author breathed life into. The amount of new cities and characters that the author was able to flesh out on paper was masterful, and this is evident in how immersive the story felt.

The first strength of the book is the immersion level of this story. As the reader, it felt as if I were picked up and dropped into the middle of a story, which is exactly how a fantasy book should feel. The world did not begin when I read the first page; it has decades of history and experiences that have already happened and influenced the story as I read it now.

A second strength is how witty the characters are. There were multiple times that I laughed out loud because of a snarky remark from a character, most likely Rowan. Galen feels like the protagonist, and many events are happening all around him, even though he is not experiencing those events directly.

That is the last huge strength of the book, when you can tie chapters together without directly involving each character. There is harmony within this story. It is balanced and well controlled.

My only criticism does not even lie within the story itself, but rather a simple format error. While reading this on a kindle, most of the individual chapters are not coded as chapters, which leaves the reading index askew, and the "time left in a chapter" option is often wrong.

Overall, this story is strong and built upon a firm foundation. The ending of the story resolved just enough to feel satisfying while also leaving some mystery to motivate me to read the next book. It is obvious when an author drives the story and when the story controls the author, and this book is definitely driven by the author through its balance and clarity.
