"We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" is an enchanting story rife with magic, scheming, suspense, and battles. It begins with the main character, Galen, as he escapes the Land of the Princes to the safety of Voulhire. The main story, however, actually bounces between multiple characters’ point of view and you follow along as each of their individual stories plays out. Towards the end the reader starts to piece together how each of these different characters plays into the storyline as a whole and how all of their stories and trials tie into what is happening across the country of Voulhire.

The author is a skilled writer and storyteller, you will be sucked in and won't want to put the book down. This is the first book in a series, I would recommend getting your hands on all the books because you will want to binge read them. There are no spelling or grammar errors that I could see. The storyline is consistent and flows really well despite the point of view jumping around between multiple people. There are a few scenes that are a little unrealistic, i.e.: there is a battle starting and one of the characters is confronted by a man "whose foot dashed across the captain's face in a display of almost unnatural agility. But Barcaedi kept his focus on the man in the blue robe." I'm pretty sure if someone kicked you and "dashed across your face" you wouldn't be able to simply ignore it and keep moving forward. There is also mention of possible child molestation, so please keep that in mind before you pick up this book. It is mentioned a few times throughout the story and one of the children is interviewed about his experience. Without spoiling the book, I’ll tell you that there wasn’t actually any molestation once they get to the bottom of the situation, but you don’t know that until about halfway through, so if this is a trigger for you, you may want to steer clear of this book.

Overall, though, I thoroughly enjoyed "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
