Sabrina is stuck at a dead end job with big dreams of being a writer. The only thing holding her back is her lack of confidence due to the excess forty pounds she's carrying. Following advice from her sister, Sabrina attends a support group and all of her luck begins to change.

Binge is a delightful and colorful novel to read, and there is so much that many of us can relate to, whether it comes from body image, work and relationships, both familial and romantic, in this book. The story is entertaining and humorous, while the writing is descriptive, enjoyable and engaging. I found myself feeling for Sabrina, relating to her, and the best part--smiling as she navigates her way through life.

The only negative I took from this book is that Sabrina was only forty pounds overweight, yet it felt like it was being treated as if she were a hundred pounds over. She would binge on candy, hide food, and do some crazy things for a snack, all while hiding her dietary problems from everyone around her. On the positive side, once she attends the support group, she learns things that could even be helpful for the reader--it certainly did make me think!

I definitely recommend this book for a great beach read, or anytime read!
