Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a nonfiction book about reconfiguring your life at any stage and planning ahead for financial security and retirement. In this book, it has been primarily focused on those who are planning to retire. It focuses on the importance of planning ahead, working in a job you love, and having lots of fun before you retire. Many things have been explained, covering testing for career aptitudes, earning, saving, and investing, retirement planning, income protection, disability insurance policies, career assessments, life insurance, long-term care alternatives, 401(k), and social security strategies. With the rising cost of living, the shrinking or shifting job market, and the lasting effects of COVID and other pandemics to come, most Americans are finding retirement is becoming a fleeting dream they may never realize. Every 4 out of 10 middle-class Americans is considered a liquid asset poor and one paycheck away from poverty. The book is a transformative guide that tackles the pressing issue of career dissatisfaction and offers a path toward personal and financial fulfillment. This book is unique to me. It is one of the very few financial advising authors that talked about retirement. It jolted me to the reality that I won't remain in my prime forever. So I will do my best to apply the suggestions given in this book on how to plan for retirement.
