How far would you go to get revenge on the demon that killed your son? That is what Kamlyn Paige tries to decide in Broken Angel: A Kamlyn Paige Novel. Broken Angel is a fantasy novel by Alex Apostol and is the first book in the Chronicles of the Supernatural Huntsman series. The novel is told in first person POV of Kamlyn, a 24 year old woman who has suffered multiple loses, including the tragic loss of her parents five years ago and the recent mysterious murder of her five year old son. Broken Angel follows Kamlyn’s story of revenge and enlightenment that there is more to her normal world then she ever realized.

After burying her son, Kamlyn is consumed by her grief and relives the image of the cloaked figure killing her son over and over again. Encouraged to get out of the house by her life-long best friend Cara, Kamlyn meets a stranger named, Don Vander, who tells her about the his own history of lose from demons and how the Chamber of Darkness can help her get revenge on the demon that killed her son.

Kamlyn learns that the Chamber of Darkness is the headquarters for huntsmen who fight against the dark creatures of the world and trains new initiates. While at the Chamber of Darkness, Kamlyn learns a multitude of skills including weapons training, makes new friends, and also makes a few enemies. But things are not what they seem even in the supernatural world. Kamlyn begins having visions of a traitor to the Chamber of Darkness that could destroy the world. Though she does not know why she has the visions, she does know that she has to do something to stop the traitor before it is too late.

I rated Broken Angel: A Kamlyn Paige Novel 4 out of 4 stars. I truly enjoyed reading this novel and could not put it down! The writing is extremely powerful and descriptive, that the author is able to pull emotions from the pages. I enjoyed how Kamlyn transforms and develops throughout the book from a woman suffering from grief to a strong huntsman that will not stop until those she cares for are safe. The only problem I did have was that there were a few grammar and spelling errors throughout the book, but they did not distract from the book which is why I did not give it a 3 star rating.

I would recommend Broken Angel for fans of fantasy reads and those who enjoy getting lost in a different world while they read. I personally love fantasy novels and this book was a true gem for me to enjoy, so much so I have already bought the second book in the series! Fans who like reading about characters overcoming loss and learning to be what they are truly meant to be will enjoy this book.

Broken Angel is a great fantasy read and the perfect way to start a series. The writing and plot are well developed and the characters come to life. Fans looking for a new adventure and a character to follow, will find Broken Angel to be the next book to read.

Wow, your review of my book was amazing! I love reading reviews like this and I am truly glad you enjoyed Kamlyn's world as much as I love writing it. Since you enjoyed it so much, I was wondering if you could leave an excerpt of this review with the link to it included on Amazon for others to enjoy? It would really help me and Kamlyn out. :)
Thanks again and enjoy EARTH ANGEL!

Alex, Amazon will not allow me to post a review since I did not purchase the book from amazon, but I did add a discussion about the book with my link and also added a review with the link to Goodreads.com. Thank you for a great book and I am excited to start Earth Angel!

Great review! This sounds like a really fascinating and fun read. I'm happy the series starts out so strong and makes you want to read more.
A book is a gift you can open again and again.

I've just finished reading this book, and I enjoyed it as well. I love how Alex Apostol started the book! That was a great hook! There were several loose threads that were started but not tied up, like the strange scene with the ex-boyfriend, but I assume they will be addressed in later books (I hope). Kamlyn's transformation was pretty sudden and dramatic for a girl who was a social outcast in high school, very skinny, and only occasionally ran in her neighborhood. There are hints in the first book that there might be something to this transformation but no explanations. I am hoping that a little more background on who Kamlyn is when she isn't in the extreme environments of the first book will come through in the next stories. This first book is very exciting and leaves the reader looking forward to reading the next book. I wonder what characters will remain in the picture for the second novel?
