How did it feel to grow up without a parent to look after you? This was Pete Mitchell's situation; before he knew him, Larry Mitchell left the neighborhood where he was born and raised. When he was a year old, his mother, Louise, abandoned him in Bertha's care so she could go study in Britain. Pete was envious of his kids, reminding them how lucky they were to have a dad, but he knew they wouldn't get it. He was continuously ducking queries about his father, which made him determined to discover him. His father abandoned him, but why?

Nigel, his cousin, gave him all the information he required regarding his father and relatives. Nonetheless, he refused to give him his father's number due to the commitment he had made. Pete then obtained his father's contact information from the internet and presented it to his father while posing as Nigel. Would he hear from his father? How would he be different if he met his father? How would their first encounter go?

Patrick A. Davy's novel, The Bitter-Sweet Search for a Father, teaches readers about tenacity, love, bravery, and other virtues. Children who grew up without parents often struggle to fit in with those who do because they feel excluded. In a similar vein to Pete, he was constantly restless and curious about his origins. All praise belongs to his wife, Faith, who has been a patient and understanding partner to him during the entire process. Despite knowing Larry's whereabouts but keeping them a secret, Pete's family wasn't helpful in bringing the two back together.

This novel, which examines the difficulties a young guy without a father confronts, is incredibly moving. I like how carefully the book was organized and researched. The book is divided into a large number of chapters, each with an intriguing title. It contains page numbers, and the text size is readable. The characters are highly developed as well. There were a few grammatical errors in the text. As a result, it is professionally well-edited.

I saw no drawbacks to this book while reading it, so I'll give it a rating of five out of five stars. I'll advise parents to consider the harm that parental separation can do to a child. They ought to learn the importance of raising children appropriately. I'll advise everyone looking for their fathers to acquire ideas on how to approach the task.
