Review of The Reel Sisters
Fly fishing, a catch-and-release sport, has the magic of bringing people together. Meet Sophie, Rose, Veronica, Amanda, and Melody, for whom this sport is the soul reason for the strong bond they have. Rose, a widow who is the heart of the story, owns a cabin in the mountains that hosts the women every time they visit to participate in fly fishing. Rose, who has been practicing since childhood, met Sophie, who’s also been fishing since childhood, in a fly shop. On an airplane heading out for a fly fishing trip, Sophie met Veronica, a city girl and executive coach for women who is deeply fascinated by the odd sport after being introduced to it. Sophie met Amanda, who is married to Mike, an army officer, when she came to a family outing in her pumpkin patch. Melody, on the other hand, is a photographer. She decides on an early morning to explore out in nature to take some shots, but unfortunately finds herself downstream after slipping as she was trying to wade to solid ground. This made the group grow to five, where they occasionally meet during the weekends as a get-together to rewind and go fly fishing, which keeps their bond solid all through.
Sincerely, this is among the best books I've ever read. I struggled to put the book down because of the author's excellent writing. As I read, I kept imagining each character because she gave them all life. Despite the ups and downs they are going through, the women's connection and how they always support one another made me fall in love. This work deserves so much appreciation that I simply ran out of words. Everything had such a realistic tone to it that it really affected how I felt. From passion to loss, all facets of life were discussed. This book was a fascinating read. This was plausible and understandable. I envied how much fun they were having while on the adventure, laughing all the way till bedtime. This was very lovely. I had never heard of fly fishing before the book, but after reading Rose's teachings, I felt like I could actually do it.
Nothing in this book bothered me. The plot twist is incredible, as is the author's storytelling. She seemed to give me a lot of emotional attention. These women were trying to balance their daily lives while fly fishing kept them connected, despite all that was going on in their lives. I am now prepared to focus on learning more about fly fishing after she gave a detailed account of the events. This depiction of real friendship served its purpose well enough. It was really wonderful. Near the book's conclusion, I lost control of my emotions. I was astonished and devastated to learn that Amanda, whom I had been rooting for the entire time, had passed away.
I rate Michelle Cummings' book, The Reel Sisters, 5 out of 5 stars. I was unable to take away a star because this work is deserving of nothing but praise. I wish readers would pick up this book. It is both fun and instructive. While reading, I saw no typos or grammatical problems, which made me believe the book was exceptionally well edited.
I recommend this book to readers who are drawn to strong, diverse female characters. It will be very useful for those who want to learn more about fly fishing or who have considered trying it out.
