From, the coastal towns of Hillport and Magnum Caelum to the holy mainlands of Yamon Soul and Virko, Matthew Tysz takes us through exciting escapades, toe-curling twists, mind-blowing turns, questionable decisions with their unimaginable consequences and a mind-swiveling storyline.
Meldorath is a powerful mage, a good friend of king Wilhelm and a skilled soldier. Such a skilled serviceman Meldorath is that he rises through ranks of the Voulhirain army to the general of the southern army. A position under which he serves with utter distinction that the Riva Rohavi, a group of rebel terrorists, shake in their boots at the mere mention of his name. How does a man of this stature fall out of the king's grace? What does this skilled mage and warrior do to strike so much fear into the hearts of the citizens of Voulhire? What will be his eventuality? On the king's order, Meldorath is sentenced to imprisonment on an island near the town of Hillport to spend the last days of his existence after a horrifying discovery of his actions. Through these actions of his, he leaves the people of Voulhire in a state of panic and paranoia. Citizens throughout the land, especially in Hillport are so paranoid that they don't even mention his name. What might he have done to receive this response you might ask, well you'll have to read the book to find out, won't you?
Galen Bray. He is a young man from the land of the princes and a refugee in Voulhire. You see, the land of the princes is a kingdom outside Voulhire where its king, a man who in response to his insecurities of his sons overthrowing him and taking over his kingdom, divides among them a portion of his kingdom with the knowledge that they would fight among themselves and leave the larger kingdom to him, alone and unbothered. True to his plan, the princes start a war that escalates to a point of making the lands uninhabitable. Galen's uncle had moved to Voulhire earlier on and built a name for himself as a renown blacksmith. On sensing that he was about to die, he endeavors to find Galen and pass down his business to him. On this mission, he hires an executor to aid him in his tasks. Rowan, the executor, proves to be of great help by primarily saving Galen from the land of the princes and then inducting him into the kingdom of Voulhire. Rowan familiarizes Galen with Voulhire and takes him on numerous adventures in the kingdom before he settles in Magnum Caelum to continue his uncle's practice.
Lord Eldus Alderman, previously known as judge Eldus is appointed by the king as the new lord over hillport. Eldus is a good man at heart. While a judge, he build an amazing rapport with the people. His magnificent reputation characterized by how he solved issues with fairness, intelligence and wisdom preceded him. His awesome track record as a judge is what made the king confident that Eldus was the man for the job of transforming Hillport. Having seen two previous lords who were downright evil had the little town shaken and its inhabitants scared. Eldus and his family get right to work in the town, trying to heal the town emotionally and improving its infrastructure. The people of the town respond exceptionally well to lord Eldus and his family as they see a ray of hope for their town. Will lord Eldus successfully complete changing this town? Was moving his family down to the coast really a good idea for Eldus? Are you itching to have your questions answered? Well I think we all have established what needs to be done at this point.
