Snatched up to heaven for kids by Jemima and Arvind Paul is a children's book in the Christian religion. It describes the experiences of two kids who have detailed dreams about heaven. They keep enquiring from their parents to seek clarity on the dreams they have. The parents explain to them and also refer to the Bible for clarity.
The book has simple language which is easily understandable by kids who are still learning to read English. It also has very colorful pictures which are entertaining and descriptive to the readers. The book is also not too long or too short, it is a good length for the recommended age. It is encouraging to read for more than a day which is good in promoting the reading culture in kids. The language used is appropriate for kids and there’s no profane language. The references used are important for clarification especially for those who want to educate their children on the Christian religion and its values.
The negative thing about this boo is the title which could be easily misinterpreted as children dying and gong to heaven. Also, the word ‘snatched’ in the title might be a bit scary since it may appear as violent and not a so peaceful experience. There is also a picture used in page 20 where the people are feasting. The scenario is supposed to be a joyous one but based on the picture one might misinterpret it as scared or surprised.
I would give the book a 4 out of 5. It is a great colorful children’s book which is easily understandable and good for children. The pictures could show clear emotions but other than that, it is amazing.
This book is great for kids who are familiarizing themselves with the Christian religion. It is also good for parents as it shows how they offer guidance to their kids.
