A Dream for Peace, written by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, is a real-life story of the battle for independence that Algeria and other French colonies underwent. The biography of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's life and his contribution to Algeria's independence was covered in full while receiving financial aid to study medicine. He became associated with student groups in France with the goal of creating alliances to end colonial authority in Algeria. He went to Spain after numerous unsuccessful attempts by the French police to apprehend him, but due to French influence, he was detained there. After being freed, he returned to Algeria and briefly practiced medicine there before relocating to the United States to pursue a doctoral degree. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah was the first scientist to propose a theory for reverse transcriptase enzymes.

Initially, the book contains the author's memories, including his encounters with notable individuals. The prose's extraordinary story is built on these memories. I appreciate how the author clarified complex concepts and fascinatingly described the happenings in his life and his country. The suffering experienced by Africans is reflected in this novel. I really appreciated how the author was able to express his opinions on many life situations throughout the book, while also being really honest with his feelings. He discusses with readers his career as a diplomat and the difficulties he overcame along the way. On the various powerful figures he interacted with, he offers his unvarnished opinions. I was moved by the author's courage and commitment to working toward the betterment of humanity.

Aside from the length of the book and the difficulty of pronouncing some names, I loved reading this book. I was interested in the book throughout. The author included footnotes at the end of each chapter, which I found to be helpful. The book's use of graphics to help readers understand what the author was talking about was something else I truly liked. The story's constant portrayal of each character's function impressed me, and I found reading it to be enjoyable. I gained a lot of knowledge about many African nations as a result of this book. The events in the book are arranged chronologically.

I am rating this book, A Dream for Peace, 5 out of 5 stars because it was informative and well organized. There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited.

I would recommend this book to readers who have an interest in historical events, the struggle for freedom, and family life.
