Can you give up on your dream for the peace of the next generation? Some people stood up and sacrificed their lives for the peace the world enjoys today. This book focuses on a man who disagreed with the injustice of his era and gave his all to fight against it.

A Dream for Peace is a memoir that narrates the life of the author, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, and his contribution to bringing peace to the world. The author, who was born in the northeastern region of Algeria and the last surviving son of his mother, expressed his dissatisfaction at the sight of the injustice done to his people. Traveling from one place to another, Dr. Berrah joined various movements, liberation armies, and organizations to fulfill his longing for peace and coexistence. How did his commitment to this fight affect his life and marriage? What did he forfeit to fulfill his dream?

One thing I can truly say about this book is that it is inspiring. Some authors will just write about the positive aspects of their lives, giving the impression that good things come on a bed of roses. Dr. Berrah documents his good, bad, and awkward experience. An example of this is when he was locked in a prison in Spain. Though he later turned out to be a great figure, he showed that good things come with sacrifice. The part that intrigued me most was when he had to choose between his career and his cause. The author also portrayed himself as a good leader and teacher. He lived by the doctrines he preached. He did not discriminate as regard race nor was he biased as regard religion.

Another aspect of the author's life that touched me was how he balanced his academics with his political career. Even though he was immersed in his cause, he did not joke about his studies. This shows that being involved in other good activities does not serve as an excuse to lose focus on one's main goal. The author portrayed some other qualities a reader can learn from. These qualities include his tolerance for other religions, his commitment to his cause, his loyalty, perseverance, and other leadership skills.

I have nothing against this book. The only thing I can say I dislike about this book is the length. Looking at the number of pages, the book appears long, but that does not mean it is boring. It is the inclusion of photos and research material, which serves as proof of the author's achievements, that makes the book seem lengthy. So as a reader, don't be frightened by the number of pages, you will enjoy reading this book.

I enjoyed reading this book and I was able to learn some things from it. I am also intrigued by the way this book was edited professionally. As long as the book is, I couldn't find errors of any form. Owing to these reasons, I'll gladly give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to readers who are interested in the stories of the African revolution and African history.

I have read a lot of reviews on this book. I think I have to pick it up next. The life of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah intrigues me. A doctor, freedom fighter, and a revolutionist... Impressive. Beautiful review.

This is a great book that should be read by all Africans, especially the youth. It shows how one can fight for what one love.

The book truely sounds like a powerful and inspiring memoir that showcases the sacrifices and dedication of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah in his fight against injustice and his pursuit of peace and coexistence.
