While still a child, Ghoulem had dreams of an Algeria free of racism and colonialism. This dream extended beyond his nation; he desired an Africa run by and for Africans. As time passed, his only possessions were himself, his mother, and his dreams. He played a crucial role in the decolonization of his own country, Algeria, and other African nations after earning a degree in medicine and reaching a certain level of prominence in his career. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's initial dream became not only a reality but one in which he had a significant hand. But as the reader of will discovers, there was more to him.

This memoir chronicles Dr. Berrah's career as a scientist and diplomat. His storytelling skills were compelling. Reading about his personal experiences portrays him as a guy of strong moral principles, a freedom warrior, and a change agent. The author used real-life examples to make the novel believable. His strategic thinking and resolve were excellent. It was amazing to learn that he had visited the world up to 40 times. I had a great time reading about his experiences. A lot of knowledge about politics, particularly African political methods, is embedded in this book.

The author provided a distinctive viewpoint on the development of post-colonialism in Africa. His extraordinary accomplishments include being the first scientist to propose the existence of "Reverse Transcriptase Enzyme" and serving as Houphout-diplomatic Boigny's counselor in Côte d'Ivoire. His designation as an ambassador of peace was well-deserved given the crucial role he played in the conflict between Israel and Pakistan. I was especially inspired by him. It was admirable how he could affect change in his community, his nation, and the entire planet.

His family life, particularly the times he spent with his wife, stuck out to me. Every mention of his wife was met with a wide grin. It was great to read and much more amazing to witness how partners with varied religious and familial backgrounds can coexist and live happily. I appreciated the wife's tenacity and toughness. She shared his enthusiasm and stood firmly and persistently by him during the difficult times. There was nothing about this book that I didn't adore. Reading it was enjoyable.

The editing on A Dream for Peace was superb. I couldn't find any mistakes in it. I would rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I'd suggest it to diplomats, campaigners, and history buffs.
