A Dream For Peace is the memoir of a freedom fighter and diplomat, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, where he puts forward the various strategic roles he played in his mission to aid in the spread of peace globally.

The author was born into an Algerian family where he witnessed injustice and racism in comparison to the many advantages enjoyed by the French settlers in their country. Apart from all these difficulties, he performed exceptionally well in his high school examinations, and this academic success opened the door for various scholarships and he was able to continue his education abroad. He studied medicine in the United States and was the first scientist to propose a concept for the "Reverse Transcriptase Enzyme". He also joined the army and went to law school and even went to jail. Later, he entered the world of politics to liberate his country from all forms of exploitation and racism. Throughout his journey, he met many famous people and the President of the Ivory Coast appointed him as a special adviser. As the plot unfolds, we learn that he has been married three times but has only fallen in love once.

I found this author utterly inspiring, as he believed in using his words to approach issues and successfully used this to help other countries, aside from his own, to become united. This book taught me that dialogue can go a long way toward restoring peace and that not all problems have to be solved by engaging in war. I loved the fact that photos were also included in the book, which helped me grasp the writing better. I like how he describes in great detail his impressions of each country or state he visits.

The only thing bad about this book would be that some readers may find it quite lengthy, and not everyone has enough patience to read such long texts. However, I do wish that some of the images were a little clearer and brighter to thoroughly gather the concept. But, this does not diminish the brilliance of this book. This book is well edited and I did not notice any grammatical or spelling errors. For the reasons stated above, I give this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I would highly recommend this book and will strongly advise everyone to read it, particularly politicians, middle-aged adults, and history lovers. It's a fantastic resource for teaching about Africa's battle for freedom in history classes. This novel is also suitable for all religions.

Happy reading:)
