Finding herself in an apparently hopeless state, Becky takes all the courage she has and steps on the path of seeking answers but firstly – healing. This book describes the journey that Becky had to carry until she developed a method of her own for conquering addiction and eating disorders. The method is based on a spiritual experience that includes coming to terms with your past and addressing a Higher Power for help. The book represents a gathering of the author’s experiences and techniques that helped her and others accomplish the goal of finding peace. The reader finds several guided meditations and advice on visualization. Seeking...Finding...Healing... is more of a spiritual self-help book than a psychological one.

Becky Lu Jackson is an author who is not afraid to be vulnerable to the reader. Her experiences are described in a sincere way that feels relatable to someone going through the same struggle. The text is a warm conversation with a friend full of empathy and understanding and can be of great help for the ones who find themselves isolated in the problem.

As for negative aspects, I can mention the fact that almost half of the book consists of the benefits that the method has and the stories of people who used these techniques and found them helpful. The author mentions that the book may be suitable for religious or agnostic readers, but the techniques include faith in a Higher Power and praying. Also, the book contains a lot of praise for the method, including self-advertisement and a less practical description of it. The author attempts to explain the techniques through personal examples but, in this way, loses the reader’s interest as it becomes less practical for the other person.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I found very few errors, but the proportion of practicality is a little low. I have all the respect for the author, and I think they have something valuable to share, but this book doesn’t give everything that it could. Overall it’s an introduction to a more complex and broader process of healing.

I would recommend this book to someone interested in the author's work, to see how Becky developed her method and make oneself familiar with it. I would also recommend it to someone interested in discovering how to apply spirituality for personal mental health. I would not recommend it if the reader prefers strictly psychological advice.
