David Griffith's Without Redemption is an exciting and nerve-wracking tale revolving around Lonnie Bowers. Lonnie has a fairly distinguished career in rodeo. This is at the back of an excellent stint working for Stirling Associates, a private intelligence firm. His time with Stirling took him to the depths of cartel-occupied areas, where he made quite a name for himself. When Lonnie's career in rodeo is put to a stop, his old firm offers to send his family on a holiday to Costa Rica. This turns out to be a seemingly straightforward assignment for him in the heart of dangerous cartels. When everything goes wrong, Lonnie has to find a way to protect his young family from some of the most dangerous enemies.

First of all, the development of the story is done excellently. Griffith introduces a key character and then allows them to grow until their role in the story is arrived at. As a result, the major characters have sufficient depth, which makes for a satisfying read. Furthermore, the narration of the story from two perspectives gives the reader proper emotional insight into two key yet different characters. This is done without compromising the pace of the story. This also ensures the reader shares in the tension and worry that is felt by the characters, and consequently, the book is deeply engaging.

My sole qualm with the book is the existence of a few typos. Nonetheless, these typos did little to affect the quality of the story being told.

I would give Without Redemption a rating of 3 out of 4. The narration is top-tier and the story is of very high quality. Griffith also creates a lovable protagonist and an antagonist who invokes plenty of contrasting emotions in the reader. However, the presence of glaring typos does affect its rating.

Without Redemption contains a strong Christian undertone. Some of the major characters are devout Christians who express their beliefs openly. This might not align with the belief systems of some readers. The book contains several violent scenes which some readers might not enjoy. The language used throughout the book is quite basic meaning readers of various levels of English-speaking can enjoy the story. Without Redemption is a very enjoyable book with very high stakes and I believe many readers will enjoy the action present throughout the book. This is a book that demands to be read in a sitting.
