Seeking…Finding…Healing is a nonfiction book by Becky Lu Jackson.
In this book, the author uses her experience in finding healing after suffering from drugs, alcohol, and eating addiction; to help other people suffering from various disorders, to find healing as well. She gives detailed Information about her life before and after her addictions. The author explains how an outer support team helps with the healing process. This involves people you trust, people you can freely talk to, who listen to you and help you heal. The author not only talked about the benefits of healing, but she also explained the benefits of writing and how it aids healing.

The book contains stories from other people who experienced their healing through understanding their inner and younger selves. One story that got my attention was the story about a lady called Alice. She wrote a letter to her teenage selves, mentioning every single thing that made life miserable for them; right until when they started healing from their mistakes and the mistakes friends and family made as well. She goes on to make promises to her teenage selves, telling them all she would do to protect them from the pains of the past.

I recommend this book because it teaches the various processes through which one can find a way out of addictions or disorders they suffer from. The book made me realize that there is a gradual process to everything. The author introduces a step-by-step process to inner family healing for readers who want to experience it. This process involves a person being able to imagine younger and older selves communicate with them.

The book wasn’t quite captivating, except for the parts where she shared her story and that of others. I would say it was professionally edited, since I found no errors. Nevertheless, I rate Seeking…Finding…Healing 2 out of 4 stars because some paragraphs are quite difficult to understand and the inner family healing process doesn’t seem suitable enough for people suffering from disorders to heal completely. And because not everyone who reads the book will understand how inner family healing really works.

However, if you are looking for a way to recover from your bad habits and addictions without having to go through professional help, I recommend that you should read this book.
