Career and Life Coach Jody B. Miller is the author of this amazing award-winning non-fiction book “From DRIFT to SHIFT: How Change Can Bring True Meaning and Happiness to Your Work and Life.” Do you wish for a meaningful change? Are you constantly drifting in your life in whichever direction your circumstances take you?

When I chose to read this book, I knew I was settling for things in my life so much that it's not taking me anywhere. I needed a change. Not too major but a shift that can clarify things for me and I won't be settling for less. People have mustered up the courage to finally make a change in their lives. Why can't we? Asking myself those heartfelt questions really helped me find clarity to see through my goals and what I'm doing wrong. I will never be the same again. And so are you. "We can let life happen to us or we can let life happen for us."

The book is divided into four major sections. "Why Shift", "When To Shift" "How To Shift" and my personal favourite, what to do, "After The Shift" The explanation is quite simple and I am impressed by every aspect of it. The author made it easier for everyone to understand by using simpler English. Key takeaways after the end of every chapter have officially won my heart.

The biggest appeal for me were the motivational stories and how people accepted themselves in most uncertainty. There's an inspiring story of a girl who had cancer when she was just four years old. The author narrates how she didn't give up on herself and ended up being a wellness coach in her former years of adulthood. When we decide to shift, we need to pay close attention to the signs and gestures that the Universe provides us. Ever happened when we want to buy a red car and suddenly all the cars we see are red?

Though this book From Drift to Shift: How Change brings True Meaning and Happiness to your Work and Life by Jody B. Miller has several aspects that you will love. I still would not recommend it to people who are highly sensitive about their religious faith. The author discusses spiritual beliefs and stories including Hinduism and Christianity. Also; I am disappointed by the fact that the author has mistakenly mis-spelled hindu deities like__Ganesha. It also happened in one of the other books she has written. The Misogi Method. The spelling of Mahatma Gandhi concerned me. It's concerning how non native speakers of Hindi don't research quite well. But I am not offended at all. So do people who are here to read it to finally make a shift in their respective lives.

I will give this book 3 out of 4 stars. I felt the book was especially strong in the areas of explanation and the whole concept was captivating. Those motivational stories, inspiring people and their life experiences were exactly why I chose to read it in the first place. I would consider this book as a must read for those people who are ready to make a change. Although, due to some common errors and misspelled words I have taken one star. I am looking forward to more books in this genre. My favorite quote from the book "Shifting is a process; not a race to the finish line." It will serve me forever. I think now is the time that you should stop Drifting and choose to Shift.
