Over decades, the world of literature has always been pampered and lavished with captivating fable tales that make us more glued to the mystical Greek mythology. For a moment, one is accorded with the opportunity, to transverse through the ancient world filled with fascinating epic encounters, mysterious creatures, heroes, romance, and revenge. All these genres can be found under this very well articulated book dubbed Heroes of Atlantis: Legend of the Dragon Runes. The author welcomes the audience of the book with an unexpected twist. Unn, chief to the Great Spirit Clan, is met with a bizarre situation. A woman out of the blues, in despair leaves him a baby. This made my nerves spike up as what followed next was saddening, making me absorbed more into the author's world.

The mysterious boy, Roeg, left under the guidance of Unn, had a tough task to battle with his destiny, rite in community and within himself. He is different from everyone else, having blue hair, handicapped, and with a special red rune around his neck. This puts him in a tough spot in the eyes of everyone as he tries to best prove himself, especially to earn to go to the Great Hunting. Little did he know that him been different and the special runes could bring a great change in the clan and even get to earn the respect and acknowledgment from everyone. If you want to know more about these great boy escapades you definitely ought to check this book out.

Alongside on the other side, we meet yet another unique and special character, Sephonei. She poses the same unique feature as Roeg, both having blue hair and trying to figure the world around. She is forced into training with Dragon Rune hunters. On her quest, she stumbles across a lute which only she can touch. definitely above the silver lining, a connection seems to pave between these two characters.

What I love about this book, is the way the author, Ryan Carriere, gives the audience a visual context of the world of Atlantis and the way he blends in the two journeys of Roeg and Sephonei. There is a good use of humor, suspense, drama, and action that makes you not want to leave the book. A negative remark may be due to the constant use of dialectal speech across some of the passages. Even though, I believe, Ryann Carriere wants us to blend into the setting of the story. To some, they may consider it to be a hazard in the normal language structure.

I wholeheartedly rate this book four out of four stars. It is quite amusing and interesting to read and would cordially recommend it to anyone out there who is fighting a battle within themselves and discriminated against in the face of the world. This book can serve as a big guide to boost one sense of esteem and morale.
