Review by Benggirl721 -- Adrift by Charlie Sheldon
This book, Adrift of Charlie Sheldon, is the second tale in the Strong Heart series.
It was on the 5th of December when things get out of control. Seattle Express, a ship in Gulp of Alaska, had a "nightmare." It caught on fire while in the middle of the ocean. The captain and his team will not wish this to happen, particularly not in December, where the waves were oddly big, and the wind was freezing. The weather that night was terrible bad. Huge waves and strong winds swept away the ship, which made the team difficult to suppress the flames.
Onshore, Buckhorn Industries, owner of the burned ship, received details about the incident. They began to contact their tug ships to tow the Seattle Express. However, Louise, one of the owners of Warhorse, an ancient salvage ship, heard the news as well. Louise and her team are desperate to claim the burned ship. Buckhorn tugs are up to Seattle Express for some hidden reasons. These ships were fast and big, while Warhorse is rusty slow. Who could bring home Seattle Express? How about the captain and his men? What happened to them? These are just a few of the things to look forward to in the story.
This book is a page-turner. The story is delightful from start to end. All the characters' roles were well-balanced. Their story ended beautifully.
The part that I liked most in the story is when Myra, Travis, Sarah, and Tom reunited with William. That scene was touching and heart-warming.
This story is lovely, but there's a scene that I disliked most, the pup being the hunt for food. Eating a seal is pathetic and inhumane. There are many other animals in that area that are among the normal ones eaten by humans, such as birds, big fish, or other wild animals. I hope that's what they ate.
Although there were profane words but very few and are acceptable and I also noted several incorrect grammars but not a concern on the story and not very obvious, like [everyone']. I rated this book 3 out of 4 stars. I did not rate 2-star because the story is a "nugget" to the readers. You get to like the tale and each character as you read the book. The story excites you that you will look forward to what will happen next. I did not rate 4-star because even though the incorrect grammars are not very obvious, however, these are quite a lot.
Overall, this genre and the context of the story will be most appealing to self-assertive people, family-oriented, and who love fantasy and adventure.
