Knitted into twenty-nine intriguing chapters, One Way or Another by Mary J Williams is the first book in The Sisters Quartet Series. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. The series revolves around the lives of four Benedict Sisters; Calder, Andi, Destry, and Bryce.

The storyline of this book is centered majorly on Calder. She is the founder of Erica's a, a children orphanage she started because of her passion for helping less fortunate kids around her.

One evening, while coming from a club, Calder gets into a confrontation with Milo, a man who had been eying her but with a motive of only sleeping with her. The confrontation almost gets physical until a bouncer comes to her rescue. The bouncer is Adam Stones. Adam and Calder belong to two different social classes. Calder comes from a wealthy family while Adam, on the other hand, comes from a humble background. The two are raised by single mothers respectively. Calder and Adam on several occasions bump into each other in unlikely locations and gradually develop a close relationship. Will this relationship blossom into a love affair? Calder has had issues with men. She believes that there are no good men. Will Adam prove her wrong and be that good man she has never had before?

One Way or Another by Mary J William is truly an interesting book to read. The cover of the book is appealing and intertwines well with the plot. This book will be enjoyed so much by romance lovers. I can't wait to read the second book in this Quartet series.

There are so many things I liked about this book. First, I liked how the author handled the sibling relationship. The sisters cared for each other despite the fact that they all had different fathers. Their bond was so extraordinary and one to emulate. Secondly, I liked how the author grooved Calder and Adam's relationship. With as much as the two felt something for each other from the infrequent times they met, the author allowed them sometime before the relationship materialize. That's a technique some authors find it hard to fix in their work. Also, the story had several twists and turns which I could hardly predict until it unfolded. What I did not like about the book was the long prologue at the beginning of this book. I felt that the author would have just begun the story right away. Nonetheless, it didn't hinder me from enjoying the book.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because it can be read as a stand-alone. The book portrays modern women as strong people who are ready to take challenges as they come. Also, the book was professionally edited since I didn't come across any errors and typos. I, however, could not award this book a 4 out 4-star rating because the book had a flimsy plot. I expected an action-packed love story based on the book's title. However, I wasn't served to satisfaction. The book also contains profane language scattered throughout the book which may be a turn-off for some readers.

A book that projects women as being able to perform any tasks. I am sure feminists would love to read this one. I think it's a good read though. Thanks for the review.

Interested to learn more about Calder's character. It sounds like a great romance novel, with a pinch of children's welfare and feminism. Definitely captured my attention. Great review.

I. too, enjoyed this book when I reviewed it, and reading your review brought back those memories. I hope you like the rest of the books in the series as much as I did.
