Reel Sisters by Michelle Cummings is a novel that has stories which are adventurous and emotional. It is a novel that is about five women with unique personalities who found each other (and themselves) through the sport of fly fishing. This sport helps renew and discover themselves.

These five women are: Sophie who is a woman that thinks of others before herself, she grew up on a farm and now owns greenhouses where she grows food and she donates some to feed hungry people. Veronica is a woman that started a business of empowering women leaders. Rose is the oldest of all in this group, who does everything in the interest of others. Amanda is a teacher and she is the happiest of them all although she does not have lot of money like the other sisters. Melody is the last woman in the group whom the "fished out of the river". They seemed to be all happy until a tragedy strikes. These are women that have different characters but somehow they became friends. So how did these unique characters meet? What is the tragedy that has befallen these sisters? Will they be able to handle this tragedy? These are all questions that will be answered once you read the book.

Michelle's novel is very descriptive and narrative. While I was reading I was directly taken to the river and could see them fly fishing. It is a very descriptive novel that could make one imagine what the author is talking about. I loved the fact that this book has a guide on how to fly fish so if you want to try this sport then this book has a lot that you can learn from which makes the book very resourceful. I have learnt from this book that if you do not have patience, your mind and emotions are somewhere else and not in the river then you will not be able to catch any fish. I have also learnt that although it is an expensive sport, it clears one's head and it also has lot of fun.

I also love the fact that the author has managed to make the readers laugh and cry at the same time. This book keeps one on toes, you want to keep on reading till the end. The book was professionally edited as I could only find few errors which do not detract from the story. However the book has offensive words which I did not like and would not recommend the book to children. Which is why I will rate Reel Sisters 3 out of 4 stars.

The book will be loved by people who love adventure and a bit of romance. It will also be loved by those that want to try the fly fishing sport as there are lot of tips from this book. However those that do not like adventure stories and romance will not love the book. People that do not like offensive words will also not enjoy the book.
