In Common Sense and Reasonable Answers by Warren William Luce, the author gives answers to issues that afflict our nation and the world. His answers are straightforward, reasonable and attainable. The author discusses a variety of topics, including: politics, God, the nature of man and the nature of the world. The first eleven chapters each discuss a specific issue such as terrorism, national security, national debt and immigration reform. The author gives a positive outlook for the future by claiming that world peace is actually possible, but only if we change our ways and perceptions. This book is biblical based and the author uses references.
Another interesting topic the author discusses is near-death experiences. He includes narratives from people’s accounts of near-death experiences. The author also includes references to other published books on near-death experiences. He claims that they are getting more frequent in today’s modern world. In the past, there was no credibility to these experiences. Nowadays, researchers have been gathering evidence to support the reality of near-death experiences.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is very interesting and informative. I like that the author not only addresses the issues but offers solutions as well. His solutions are actually possible and make sense. Near-death experiences have always interested me so I really enjoyed those chapters. This book was really thought-provoking.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book is the author didn’t include the scripture numbers in the text. He uses scriptures throughout the book but doesn’t say where the scriptures came from. He lists them in the reference list at the end of the book. If he had listed the numbers in the text, the reader could have referenced the scriptures on their own. However, this does not affect the reading. I just feel it was a little inconvenient to have to look at the reference list at the back of the book to know where the scriptures came from.
I rate this book 3 out of 4. I give this rating only because of the inconvenience of referring to the reference list for the scriptures. Otherwise, it was very well written with only a few grammatical errors. I recommend this book to everyone. It is very informative and contains solutions that everyone can contribute to. Even though anyone can benefit from this book, I think the reader should be familiar with God and the bible. If not, it could pose a little confusing.
