Columbus, Slave Trader” by Marcus Wilson is a historical fiction book that contains historical events, locations, and timelines.

The author chose Guarocuya as the narrator to describe the book's story. Admiral Columbus, who is on a quest to find gold by all means, not considering who gets hurt, has so many disruptions in his plans. Admiral Columbus decides to trade slaves as an alternative to reach his goal. How did it pan out for him? Find out in this book.

The narrative in this book is very compelling. Every line on each page captured my attention, especially the life of the Tainos people. The Tainos lived a simple life, but Admiral Columbus and his men mistreated them. It reminds me of the history of my people. Sadly, there are many people like Admiral Columbus today. I hope this book serves as a call to continue the fight against any form of human subjugation.

Marcus Wilson also drew from history to mention Rodrigo de Triana, who was believed to be the sailor on Columbus' 1492 voyage. As much as Rodrigo worked for Columbus, he was also friends with Guarocuya. It made his character an interesting one, as he had to keep his place on Columbus' ship and also help his friend.

What got my attention the most was Guarocuya's undying love and loyalty to his people. He was ready to forsake everything just for their safety. This kind of heart is what we need to make the world a better place. When you read the book, you will see how he makes sacrifices for the sake of his people.

I did not encounter any drawbacks. The accuracy of the narrative was top-notch. I commend the author for the perfect editing work, accurate historical characters, and captivating story. I give this story 5 out of 5 stars.
