"Swallows Also Fall" by C. R. Armeny is a fascinating and memorable historical fiction adventure. In this book, Rosana (the narrator) tells the story of her foster brother, Marcel-lí Massana. Marcel-lí was a fighter who stood his ground throughout the Spanish Civil War. Marcel-lí's story showcases his tenacity and determination, from his disobedient adolescence to his resistance group leadership and battle for the freedom of the Republic.

The characters in "Swallows Also Fall" are not just well-developed; they are deeply human. In the book, we see Filomena's kind gesture to accept, nurture, and breastfeed her foster son. We also see Rosana's constant lookout for Marcel-lí; her compassionate spirit for her community's freedom is one to be reckoned with.

The author's intriguing style of writing draws you into the characters' lives, making you feel their joys and sorrows. The cliffhanger ending will leave you eager for a possible next installment of the story.

This book is a must-read because it has the power to stir your emotions. The themes of family, love, education, and resilience are not just interwoven; they are brought to life in a way that will make you reflect on your experiences.

There were numerous aspects to admire in the book, but what truly stood out for me were the author's vivid descriptions. They brought the characters, events, interactions, and landscapes to life, leaving a lasting impression. The vivid descriptions of Rosana from the first page to the last will stay with you long after you finish reading the book.

I dislike nothing about the book. Overall, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars.

I highly recommend this book to fans of historical fiction and anyone looking for a captivating and emotional read. It is a true masterpiece that explores the human experience and the power of resilience.

It's amazing how our early childhood experiences and dispositions (good or bad) plays a huge role in what we eventually become. Marceli seemed to have had a troubled past. However, it contributed the the critical role he played in the Spanish War. I enjoyed reading your review.
