The book, Apollo’s Raven, by Linnea Tanner is a wonderful historical fantasy story that beautifully combines elements of magic and mystery to create an adventure full of passionate romance, ancient magic concepts, and political intrigue. The main character, Catrin, is the youngest daughter of the king and queen of the Cantiaci tribe. Catrin finds out she was born with magical powers granted to her from a raven spirit. This spirit grants her the power to travel to other spiritual realms. Her half-brother, Marrock, was banished from the Cantaici kingdom when he was very young due to an act that put Catrin’s life in danger when she was very young. Marrock was also born with similar powers he received from a wolf spirit. He vows to destroy the Cantiaci kingdom and ally with the Romans to help him achieve his goal.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I thought that the author did a great job of writing each of the characters in a way that made it easy for me to relate to them and empathize with them. I really liked how the political intrigue intensified throughout the book. I thought that the interactions between the characters and the way the story was told felt very natural. I especially enjoyed how the romance between two of the characters developed throughout the book. Also, the villains in the book were very well-written.

There was nothing that I did not like about the book. I did not find any typos or grammatical errors in the book. This is a testament to the exceptional editing that was completed to the book.

I would rate this book five out of five stars for all the reasons I stated above. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

I would recommend this book to any readers who are interested in science fiction, fantasy, adventure, and romance novels.
