My Review: 5/5
I truly had a unique experience reading this book. As a member of Generation Z, I didn't have much knowledge about the Vietnam War or the role of the US Navy in it. However, this book provided me with a glimpse into that world, even though it was fiction.

Initially, I came across some reviews of the book which helped me get an idea of what to expect. The author did an excellent job of explaining slang words and terms commonly used by the US Navy during the Vietnam War. This helped me understand the story even better and I also learned new words as a non-native English speaker.

I read the book over several days, and this pace allowed me to contemplate and analyze the events accurately. Sometimes, authors tend to either speed up or slow down the escalation of events, making it difficult for readers to understand all the details or making the book boring. However, the escalation of events in this book was very well-balanced, reflecting Randy Miller's ingenuity in writing. Even though this was the first book by Randy Miller that I had read, I was immensely impressed with his writing style and characters. I am now keen to research more about him and his other books.

Usually, my interest in a story ends when the events come to a close. But that was not the case with this book. The discussion of the aftermath of the war was equally as important as the story itself, keeping me engaged even after the story had ended.

In conclusion, this book was an eye-opener for me, providing me with a unique and insightful perspective on the Vietnam War and the role of the US Navy. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to expand their knowledge on this topic, or for those who appreciate a well-written, balanced story.
