Disturbed Tombs by Kay Oliver is a thrilling book that talks about the mythologies of ancient Egypt. Most people would see it as our everyday ancient history, but Kay Oliver didn't make it as such. Disturbed Tombs was painted around suspense and romance, a book that would keep you on your toes.

It begins with a time in ancient Egypt when some people mysteriously disappeared in the midst of other people. Amongst them were Cleopatra's daughter, Selene, and Seti, another Egyptian warrior. When they opened their eyes, they found themselves in their tombs years and years later, in a place where people found them a mystery to uncover.

Disturbed Tombs also centered around two main characters: Kaili, an upcoming archaeologist, and her husband, a cop named Derek. In this book, Kaili was brought to the limelight when she uncovered the remains of Cleopatra's daughter. As she began enjoying her new fame, she discovered that the spirits of old Egyptians roamed in her museum. Inasmuch as she was happy with the new development, she was concerned about the fact that no one would believe her and would all conclude that it was all a lie she made up in order to be famous. With this disturbing thought, she took it to the feet of her husband and another of her friends—also an archaeologist, Doris.

Derek, the second main character and husband to Kaili, is also a cop trying to solve a cold case of murder. These two,in the midst of their busy, bubbling careers, still found a place for one another. That was another beauty of the book.

I'd recommend Disturbed Tombs to lovers of historical fiction and Egyptology. It can be a good read for middle-aged adults and even young adults.

Disturbed Tombs was a good book, no doubt, but I won't say I enjoyed it as much as I had thought I would. The story was promising, but I wouldn't commend the writing style of the author. Many authors have different writing styles, and hers didn't sit well with me. I felt the story was all over the place. It didn't give me the chance to enjoy the story as the book hopped around.

I'd want to give Disturbed Tombs two out of four stars and three out of five stars because I think the story would have been better. It started off with a nice beginning, but I didn't like it when I got to the middle. I'd also say that it is a grammatically polished book.

If you're a fan of ancient myth, I think this is the book for you!
