Review of Wild World
Being upright and determined are two qualities in a person that would make one go slowly and steadily but far in life. Wild World by Peter S. Rush is a fiction book about a determined young man who wanted to make a difference in a society where many atrocities were happening. He wanted to contribute to making his society a better place by contributing in his own small way. The story is about the life of Steve Logan, a college graduate who went against all odds by joining the police force as a patrolman, which was considered a job for people without a college education. He decided to make meaningful change demonstrations, and talking was not enough; he wanted to be where the action was happening to keep peace and order. It also talks about his love life, where he couldn’t move to chase his dream but remained near his love so as to prove his love for her. Was it really about courage or love? After joining the police force, he found out it was not what he thought it was, and his college qualification made him disliked by his colleagues. Despite all the obstacles and difficulties he went through, he was determined to make a point and did not quit. After seeing all the corruption, syndicates, and deception going on, he devised a plan to expose them. He did his own investigation, and with all the evidence obtained, he reported it to the FBI. Was the risk that Steve took worthwhile, and what difference did he achieve?
I found a lot of positives while reading this book. As much as it was fiction, it had a lot of lessons to teach. I loved how the main character, Steve, showed courage and determination in the midst of danger as he tried to make a difference. Despite being put in a situation that was dangerous, he didn’t give up and, in all situations, came out stronger. Steve’s love for Roxy was so beautiful that he sacrificed a lot for her, although she couldn’t see it or reciprocate. The concept of courage and danger encountered by Steve was so absorbing and skillfully handled. The story might not be that unique, but the author handled it so well, with so much intensity and power.
As much as I enjoyed reading the book, it left me longing to know more about how some situations were handled. For example, the incident where Steve broke into the Dean’s office left me wanting to know more about how the Dean reacted and how the investigation went on. But all in all, it was a good book, and I would recommend other readers go ahead and purchase it.
The Wild World was professionally edited, and I found no grammatical errors. It was easy to read, and I enjoyed reading it as the story flowed. I am giving it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars .
I recommend this book to all adult readers. This is a good book that also gives a life lesson of determination, courage, focus, and always doing the right thing even when everyone else is doing something wrong. I would also recommend this book to those that have just completed college and are at a stage in life where they need to make a decision about what to do with their lives next.
