Review of Wild World
Wild World is the journey of Stephen Logan from his college life to the practical World of living as a police patrolman. Four college students got killed by National Guard troops in an anti-war demonstration at Kent State University in Ohio. The students of the University, with their families and friends, went on a march to demonstrate their aversion to the Nixon administration, the immoral Vietnam war, and the police state mentality. At the demonstration, a few students met with such brutality that did not fit the crime. The police were oppressive. You can't just beat people senselessly or shoot unarmed people down. "You have to be a part of the system to change it," said Sergeant David Durk.
Thus motivated to change the system, Steve enrolls in the Police department. Being a college boy, everyone was jealous of him. He was the only one of his type. He did not lack in any aspect, yet it was a new experience in the wild World. Towards the journey in his life, he meets a terrific but horible adventure in his career, investigation, research, love, passion, dreams, and social life, as well as in his changing psyche.
I loved everything about the book. The creepy romance always kept me motivated. Steve making some love was my favorite part. His ever-lasting struggle was unique in its style. He tried to stop what he was meant to, to abolish the brutality and oppression the police did but hesitated every time. Side-way twists were very shocking. He often tried to connect his struggles in the department and his love but found them as two distinct aspects of life.
As stated earlier, I love everything about the book. There was nothing that was against my opinions. This book contained no grammatical errors. Therefore, it is safe to say that the book is professionally well-edited. Many erotic and sexual scenes included explicit details. I found many profanities in the book. Some paragraphs include violence and disturbance.
Based on my favorable opinions about the book and no grammatical errors found, I would like to declare my ratings for this book a 4 out of 4 stars. Trust me, the ending is so satisfying that I want to have more of this book.
In the book, generally, the youth is addressed. So I would recommend this book to mature students, especially. It is a source of motivation and courage that nothing is impossible. Peter S. Rush made this excellent book.
