Something Beyond Love is a story of an army pilot, Brad Stanley, who leaves his wife in Germany as he offers his services in Vietnam where there is war. His wife, Anna, starts having an affair with another man, Damon. One of Brad's friend sees Anna with Damon kissing and tells Brad. The latter is devastated and spies on his wife and confirms what he had been told. Despite all that, Brad still loves Anna and the children and decides to give himself time before he decides what to do. In Vietnam, Brad is injured and is taken to hospital where he meets a nurse called Susan. Brad recovers and as he leaves the hospital, Susan tells him never to come back to his hospital. Brad is injured again and is taken back to "Susan's hospital" before being transferred to the United States. sometimes later, Susan meets Brad in a club in the United States and they become friends, doing PR together and going to church. Susan falls in love with Brad despite being engaged to another man. Brad, on the other hand, develops a connection he had never had, with Susan. When Susan's time to leave comes, Brad is sad to see her go. That night, they engage in a night of passion and love making. Susan tells him to reconcile with his wife before she leaves. Will Brad forgive his wife or will he choose Susan?

I love the way Wimberly N. Griffin brings out the events in this book vividly especially the adventures of Brad in Vietnam. He also uses direct speech to bring life to the characters and to show their character traits and feelings. The author has also used humor, for example the bedpan incident in the hospital in Vietnam.

The book is also very long containing over 500 pages and also contains erotic content.

I rate this book three out of four stars because it has been well edited. I only found one grammatical error in the whole book. I wouldn't give it four stars because of the erotic content involved and the complex army terms used.

This book is suitable for mature audience as it contains explicit sex scenes. It is also for those who are interested in what goes on in the army because some many events are centered on the war in Vietnam and how Brad saves the day. Lastly, I would recommend it to those who believe in soulmates.
