Something Beyond Love, written by Mr Wimberly Griffen, follows the story of U.S. army reconnaissance pilot, Captain Brad Stanley. In the opening moments of this fictional novel, Brad is dealt a bad deck of cards and is forced to make a difficult decision, which almost leads to his death and hospitalizes him. In the hospital, while waiting to be released, Brad thinks back to the time when he was informed of his wife's unfaithfulness while he was away and realizes that he needs to find out the truth, because coincidentally she had cancelled their plans to Bangkok for their anniversary, making him suspicious about whether this information was true. Was his wife unfaithful or was this just a big misunderstanding?

The author, Mr Wimberly Griffen, imagined a captivating story, and quite eloquently put it onto pages. The characters emotions are well communicated through the language that is used by the author as well as the details that is shared about the characters. The author, Mr Wimberly Griffen, achieves the goal of placing the reader in the world that the author has created, and thus, increasing the readers engagement. The manner and order in which the novel was written, also makes it exciting for readers to complete the book and find out what takes place in later scenes of this novel.

For all it's good, there are definitely things that could be approved upon. For instance, Brad, the main character, repeats the events that take place an excessive amount of times when explaining and sharing his experience with other characters in the book, making it tedious to read over and over and discouraging the reader from carrying on with the story. The author, who has previous military experience, uses a lot of military lingo, which most readers do not understand, this adds nothing to the context and confuses many of the readers and can make it frustrating for the reader. Even though the military lingo could be educating for some readers, it is not necessary for it to take up such a large portion of the book, because it is not really relevant to the rest of the novel. While detail is good, the author takes it a bit too far in this novel.

I rate the book a 3 out of 4 stars, the book is well written and professionally edited, the story line and plot of the book is well thought through and the author did a really good job in putting his ideas on paper. The thing I love most about the book is the fact that readers are able to put themselves in the characters shoes and understand the contents of the book in a deeper manner.

I recommend Something Beyond Love to readers who love books that go into excessive detail and also people who have knowledge about any military lingo and terms, or have any experience working in the military. The book will probably bring back a lot of memories to the reader and thus also making it more exciting for them to read. It will also allow them to place themselves in the characters shoes, because they have probably also experienced a lot of the emotions and adventures that the character experiences in the novel.
