Tucker was a construction site manager. Shortly after his wife's death he got a job in another town. This came with a sense of perfect timing to him because he wanted a fresh start. A new construction site was being brought up in Virginia for a prison. So he packed up his bags and left.
When he got there he was met by two gentlemen who looked like life had not been kind to them. He greeted them and inquired about where he was going. They later
told him all about what had happened in that house and what it was famous for.

He went ahead to occupy that space despite the many warnings that he got because of living there. At one point he was told that the mountains were not too friendly to people who were from out of town. When i was reading this book i was filled with so much anticipation to find out what that was all about.

Beyond The Higher Ground by Thomas A. Brigger was very intriguing. From the moment i turned the first page i kept wanting to know more. What happened next and next. I liked this so much. I also appreciate how the author used humor and sarcasm to make the book have a very light
mood and enjoyable to read.

When reading the book I did not find anything negative in the book. In addition to that, I did not spot any spelling or grammatical errors which led me to believe that the book was well edited.Despite the fact that the book was fictional the author tried to make the storyline and the characters as realistic as possible. I feel like a good job was done in this book generally. In this regard I would like to say that I did not find anything I didn’t like in the book.

With that being said I rate this book as 3 out of 4 because I liked how well the author developed the characters in the book to be in tune with the story line. What also stood out for me was how the plot developed in a slow manner but steadily building to the climax of the story. This was very creative of the author. As a person who likes reading fictional thrillers I would recommend this book to people who love and enjoy reading fictional thrillers. Someone who is also looking for a good read to pass time would enjoy this book.
