Review of Beyond the Higher Ground
Assigned to build a prison, Mason Tucker moves to Brights mountain unaware of the danger he faces. Its only a matter of time when he starts getting chills like the girl telling him to shift and on pursuing her ends up nowhere specifically only being threatened to leave the area by a lady this time. Tucker also faces it rough not knowing the story underlying where he was asked to reside as he carries out his prison building.
Beyond the higher ground tells us how Mason Tuck almost loses his life living in what I would rather term as a drug empire or drug hive. The author, Thomas.A.Brigger takes us through Turks life which was more of surviving by a thin thread day by day. The book has a very creative plot and is quite sarcastic. As expected, it encompasses several twists which nourish a readers thirst for creativity. The grammar used is top notch and can go along way enlightening a cautious reader.
Being drug riddled, the issue of family breakdown is shed some pity on where Tucks mother was abandoned by the husband and Mason was forced to live with his grandparents since his mother was succumbing to so much and couldn't raise him successfully. Later in the book he comes across a victim who might be headed down the same road as a result of the mothers poor choices. We are reminded choices have consequences and might affect innocent people mostly children since the parents don't weigh the scenarios before jumping into marriages. Emphasis are also on embracing technology since it makes our lives easy and helps us solve so many mysteries. Basically life lessons are spread all over the book plodding deep consideration.
The book has made use of dialogue at large this brings the real time effect to the book and making it more interesting. The font and spacing implemented is commendable as well as the arrangement of chapters which allows for breaks once in a while. The book has made use of swearing phrases by nothing to worry about. We also get to pick the issue of trust based on the events that unfolded towards the end of the book. The conclusion felt like watching an action TV show. The book has no errors at all hence well edited.
I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars owing to the storyline and the couple of twists within the book. The book was well fun going through generally and I liked it. This should go out to all parents and people opting to get partners as they should consider like 10 years ahead to avoid regrets later in wedlock and also get to learn what their partners do for a living.
