Beyond the Higher Ground by Thomas A. Brigger is an interesting historical fiction about Tucker Mason, who was appointed by his boss at Deonitz Building Company to supervise the construction of a prison building in Wells Country in Virginia. He went through several periods of pain, grief, and heartbreak due to his wife's death. Katherine had an amazing smile that could calm a troubling storm, which made Tucker Mason's life complete. Katherine's death caused Tucker to be heartbroken.

Tucker Mason took advantage of the opportunity he had as the project manager to supervise the construction of a prison to begin a new life. He was quick to discover a secret: home may not be a good place for a new life. The environment would give him a fresh memory of his past. Tucker had several challenges from the locals, and he worked with different kinds of people at the work site, as he began to take notes of some illegal drug transactions that had been taking place that he didn't know about. Tucker had an incident and was admitted to the hospital for some period of time.

Beyond the Higher Ground has an interesting writing style and a way of stringing together emotions in a way that captures the attention of a reader. Thomas A. Brigger gave details of all the characters in the book, so one can feel the reality when reading. Tucker was determined. I love his decision to start a new life despite the pain and challenges. I have encountered several people who had challenges but never got the courage to start something new in their lives. Tucker didn't give up; he had perseverance. Persistence, which is the book's main theme, is key.

I enjoyed reading the book because it was easy and interesting. It got to the point where I didn't leave any lines unread. It is an inspiring book. Thomas A. Brigger did an excellent job writing this book, and he has a strong desire to reveal the unknown to his readers.

I am so excited about this book. I do enjoy the novel. It's exceptionally well edited, with no errors, so I give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I don't dislike any things in the book.

The book has natural realities; that is, I recommend it to those who love fiction books and, most importantly, to those who are grieving with past challenges; it will help them start a new life. I also recommend it to young adults.
