Brandy, since her birth, had only ever lived on the Red Witch, a ship captained by her parents, Captain Eric Erasmus, also known as the Plague, and Katrina Mooney, also known as the Scarlet Mistress. They were pirates and marauders who sailed the Caribbean in the nineteenth century. One faithful morning when Brandy was fifteen, their ship was invaded, and her parents were killed. Brandy was forced to change her identity and leave the Red Witch with Skinner, her uncle, as a prisoner. Find out what became of Brandy in the long run.

I deeply admired the author’s work on character development. I loved how Brandy, Ballad of a Pirate Princess by Dan E. Hendrickson taught the reader the importance of developing certain attributes such as fearlessness, patience, kindness, resilience, and much more. I also loved how the book accentuated the need to uphold good morals and family values; the reader could see that in the life of John Edwards. I loved how the importance of believing in God was well emphasized in several chapters of the book. Also, Dan E. Hendrickson did well to show the power of teamwork even in impossible circumstances, and that was a noteworthy lesson. The author did not fail to emphasize the power that women could hold even when only seen as weak and vulnerable; women should be aware of that. Overall, the book was meticulously written.

For the negative aspect, aside from the old English used multiple times by the author to portray the period the story was set in, which I wasn't very comfortable with because they looked like grammatical errors and affected my reading a bit, I didn't find any other part of the book that I disliked.

Brandy, Ballad of a Pirate Princess by Dan E. Hendrickson was exceptionally well edited.
I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical errors in it. Owing to that, I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. It was a very engrossing book, and it kept my interest till the very end. The characters in the book were adequately developed, and the author took his time to unravel the storyline slowly. No part of the book was rushed. The emotions in the story were also brilliantly communicated. I felt every emotion experienced by the characters as I read through this book.

Brandy, Ballad of a Pirate Princess by Dan E. Hendrickson is a perfect fit for all lovers of history and romance. Family-oriented people will also find the book to be worth the while. Lastly, anyone looking to learn essential survival skills or attributes can also pick up this book.

I think I enjoyed the author’s use of old English. It made the pirates’ character development excellent.

The fact that Brandy and Skinner had to hide their identities to avoid retribution, but still learned they were not required to stick to the rules of their previous life was my favorite part of the story.

The betrayal Randy's father suffered was the part of the book that really got me emotional. I love that Randy and her Uncle found a way to move past that and get a life for themselves.

I've read this same book and it was an absolutely intriguing read. My favourite part was when Brandy found love after all she's been through with her uncle.

Brandy's story seems like one I would love to read over and over again. The death of her parents is emotionally devastating and I hope she turned out good at the end of the day. I admire her Uncle's bravery.
